does the devil lure/tempt people and ,if so, does God try to give equal force for goodness???

We can blame Satan for many things however; I don’t believe Satan is involved in every sin that we frail humans commit. It was the Pride of Satan/Lucifer that got him removed from Heaven. Likewise it too is often our own Pride that often keeps us repeating the same Sin over and over and over again. It also distances us from God. Another realization about Satan is that those who are the most close to God through His great Merciful Love and grace are the ones Satan most tries to tempt and pester the most but only if God permits it for the better of our spiritual growth.

ty 4 r—so, does the devil tempt, and God does nothing to help for a particular temptation??
 
The Devil and a recovering alcoholic sit down at a bar. The Devil orders a whiskey and places it in front of the alcoholic and tempts him to drink it. While sitting there trying to decide weither to drink it or not-
-a stranger taps the alcoholic on the shoulder and asks “Hey, is this your AA chip I found on the floor?”
-his wife calls him and reminds him to pick up some groceries for their big family dinner that night
-a dirty, sick, and poorly dressed active alcoholic sits down next to him and proceeds to lament how his life has fallen apart due to his drinking
-his AA partner calls him on the phone to remind him about their next meeting
-the bartender puts an ice cold Coke in front of him and says “Hey man, the guy who paided for this told me to give it to you. He said you might like it more then the whiskey”

The Devil can’t make you do anything. God, out of His loves, allows you [free will] to do what you want. It’s your choice to let Him help you.
 
Armyvet has nailed it! Yes, the Devil does tempt you; he certainly tempted Christ so why would we not be subject to his temptations? But we have been given free will by God the Father.

Speaking of the Temptation of Christ, why did Satan try to tempt Jesus into sin, the Son of God himself? He didn’t try to tempt the Father in Job.

I believe the explanation is: Satan was not sure Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ. Only after the three rejections he became sure Jesus was God.

Because Jesus is both God and Man. He has both a Divine nature and a human nature.

Not true Satan knew very well who Jesus of Nazareth was. the Son of Almighty God in human form
Matthew Chapter 4: 1-10

[3] And the tempter coming said to him: If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But in a sense, doesn’t Satan know all humans because he tempts all humans? What would preclude Satan from knowing who Jesus really is?

This is one of my favourite scenes in the Gospel, btw. It’s a bit weird.

Satan’s knowlegde is limited by God. AFAIK, Satan does not have to know all about you or anybody if God doesn’t allow him to know.

But God had no objection to making himself known to Satan in Job. Why object in the Gospels?
