Having said all this, if your post is nothing but a very smart spammy technique to include that link, kudos to you for getting all these eyes to look at your post.

May your thread be removed quickly.
No, not a spammy technique. I just couldn’t post the name of the product as the overzealous profanity filter blocked it. The word in question is not considered profane in the UK. In fact if you do a search on the Telegraph website you will find over 1000 articles containing such a word.

I asked a serious question.

I am really taken aback by how welcoming this forum is.

Is it a bad sign if I prefer the rich decadent chocolate of devil’s food cake to the fluffy light airiness of angel food cake? 🤷:p:D
The word ‘decadent’ is mis-used to mean lush or delicious. Its true root is the meaning of decay. Why eat decayed cake?

Sorry. Couldn’t resist! My biggest pet word peeve, apart from the use of the word ‘choice’ to describe ‘abortion.’ 😃

Welcome to CAF. To be honest, when I first saw your OP yesterday, I had a good laugh out of it and it ties back to this thread: forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=631698

There’s nothing to be worried about, if there was, I would’ve given up “Bloody Mary’s” a long time ago for a Saturday morning drink ;).

At the winery where I work, we sell a cheese called “Queso del Diablo” (Devil’s cheese) because it’s made with ghost chile from India (which makes habanero peppers seem like bell peppers!) Our cheesemaker puts 16 oz. of ghost chile powder per 100 lbs. of cheese to make it (we have a “milder” one that has 8 oz. ghost chile per 100 lbs. cheese.)

Both have been known to bring people to their knees and beg God for mercy and relief! 😃
Sorry, couldn’t resist:

Well Benedict has said he is personally against eating Foi gras (fatty goose/duck liver) so maybe eating that could be seen as wrong.

Suddenly I feel the need for a shot glass fulla hot sauce. Will it be Frank’s or Predator?

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines decadent, among other meanings, as “characterised by or appealing to self-indulgence”, which is a perfectly appropriate description of a rich chocolate cake.

If it’s good enough for the dictionary it ought to be good enough for you. 🙂
