To be honest, I have lived an active homosexual lifestyle, which continued even after my baptism in the Pentecostal church. I am now at the breaking point in which I am no longer satiated by my lusts after men and am disgusted when it comes to realizing Christ’s love for me and my lack of love for Him because of my sin which separates me from His arms, or so it feels.
I am hoping to get a rosary soon so that I can begin praying the rosary and the chaplet of Divine Mercy faithfully (hopefully everyday to the best of my ability) and draw closer to Jesus.
My patron saints are St. Jude, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Francis of Assissi. My confirmation name will be Jude Anthony Francis.
The reason why I’m writing this is to find out, how, admist all of the chaos that goes on around me as a homosexual to devote my life to Christ even more deeply than ever before and is there really hope in overcoming these desires?
What is the best way to draw closer to God and to let go of my past and my homosexual lifestyle that has prevented me from feeling God’s presence in my life?
I’m not yet Catholic but will be soon, I pray. I cannot wait till my journey home is finally accomplished. The waiting is getting the best of me but the realization I will soon be home is always soothing and Christ’s love always overwhelms me when I’m at rock bottom…
