For those who know and understand Mary know that she can only lead to Her Son. Jesus was Her life. His love was Her love, His pain Her pain. Simon in the temple understood this bond between Mother and Son when he spoke to her of the sword that would pierce Her Heart. Her heart was one with Christ Her soul His soul they shared the same feelings. We want to love Christ as Mary did, for She did so perfectly. Father Faber says that, :The special grace of all devotions to Mary is union with Jesus. It’s all for Him, loving him tenderly, and serving him faithfully. St. John Eudes said, “We must not seperate what God has joined together so perfectly, Jesus and Mary.”
The question is when will the reign of Mary come so that the reign of Christ will be fulfilled in the hearts of men. St. Louis de Montfort said, “Mary has been unknown up till now, and that that is of the reasons why Jesus Christ is not known as he should be. If then, as is certain, the knowledge and the kingdom of Jesus Christ must come into the world, it can only be as a necessary consequence of the knowledge and reign of Mary. She who first gave him to the world will establish his kingdom in the world.”
and again he says, “Mary must be known and openly revealed by the Holy Spirit so that Jesus may be known, loved and served through Her.”
“‘When will that happy day come’ asks a saintly man of our own day whose life was completely wrapped up in Mary, ‘when God’s Mother is enthroned in men’s hearts as Queen, subjecting them to the dominion of her great and princely Son?’”
“My dear friend, when will that happy time come, that age of Mary, when many souls, chosen by Mary and given her by the Most High God, will hide themselves completely in the depths of her soul, becoming living copies of her, loving and glorifying Jesus?”

This is coming from a saintly man in the 17th centry. He battled Calvinists, and Jansenists just to name a few.How much we need a 5th Marian dogma. It would bring about great devotion to Our Holy Mother which in turn will bring perfect union with Christ! To proclaim Mary as, Co- redemptrix, Mediatrix, and advocate!
Even in the 17th centry St. Louis de Montfort proclaimed this, “God chose her to be the treasurer, the administrator and dispenser of all his graces, so that all his graces and gifts pass through her hands. Such is the power that she has received from him that, according to St. Bernardine, she gives the graces of the eternal Father, the virtues of Jesus Christ, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to whom she wills, as and when she wills, and as much as she wills.”

St. Maximilian Kolbe dove deeper into the union with Mary and the Holy Spirit because of Lourdes he study Her under Her name which is The Immaculate Conception. Mary’s union with the Holy Spirit is so close they have one sole life together. Mary’s mission is one with the Holy Spirit, to proclaim Christ and to bring him to all souls.

I hope and pray for a 5th Marian dogma, for the greater glory of the Blessed Trinity!

There is absolutely ZERO need for a fifth Marian Dogma!

Nevertheless, the Church is leaning that way, toward dogmatization of Our Lady as Mediatrix of All Grace.

If so, it will require the assent of faith.

This opinion coming from only a few people. Whats sad is many don’t understand the bond of Jesus and Mary! And thinking giving Her due honor takes away from Christ in some way. You could not be further from the truth. For we never give more honor to Jesus then when we honor his Mother, and we honor Her simply and solely to honor him more perfectly. And don’t forget that the enemies of the Mother of God are also enemies of Christ.

If anything, I thought she was moving away from it.

Quite so.
Moving away from it? How wrong you are! This is a simple opinion of one person. I have given witness to centries of prayer and devotion. Eventually Holy Mother Church will speak and give greater honor to the Mother of God. Christ himself wishes Her to be known and loved. In the end Her Immaculate Heart will triumph!

“Whoever does not wish to have Mary Immaculate as his Mother will not have Christ as his Brother either; the Father will not send his Son to him; the Son will not descend into his soul; the Holy Spirit will not make him a member of the mystical body of Christ; for all these mysteries of grace take place in Mary full of grace, and in her alone. No other creature is or will ever be immaculate like her, or full of grace, or capable of being so intimately united to the Lord as was the Immaculate Virgin. And since the first-born, the Man-God, was conceived only through the specific consent of the Most Blessed Virgin, the same holds true of all other humans, who must imitate in all things their primary model, Christ.”
(St. Maximilian Kolbe)

Where have you been? Mary has been and is known and loved.

Why do we NEED a fifth dogma? If I die in a state of grace today I will be saved and I haven’t needed the dogma you propose.

Yes she is and many have written about her honor for many centries now it would make her honor complete, no questions asked it would bring her reign to fulfillment.

Did I say a dogma would save you? I am simply saying a 5th dogma would complete the honor of Mary. And sooner or later it will happen. If you love Her what is your tone about? If someone loves Mary they honor Her and want to see Her honored to the fullest. In honoring Her we imitate Christ himself, Christ made Her Queen of heaven and earth, He wants to see Her honored to the fullest on earth, not just in heaven.

Is there any more need to “complete the honor of Mary”? Just call her the Theotokos, that is all that needs to be said.

If 5 dogmas is good, wouldn’t 6 be better yet, granting even more honor? Where does it stop?

In any case, I obviously trust the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, to make the right decision. I see no reason to cheerlead for any dogma, as if we could affect truth by our numbers or by our loudness.

I don’t see how it would hurt either. I am not cheerleading I am praying for it, and there is nothing wrong with that either. I know there is a lot that Holy Mother Church has proclaimed for the honor of Our Holy Mother.Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix, and advocate is all part of her misssion and union with God and is part of her very person what is so bad of honoring that?

There is absolutely nothing more needed to make Mary’s honour complete. That is simply fantasy.
Also the fifth dogma will never happen.

I also resent the implication you are making that anyone who does not agree with you does not fully love Mary.

Fantasy?! If you did study and checked things you would know that a great number of people are sending in requests for a dogma.

We know all these things about Mary, and there is nothing wrong if Holy Mother Church proclaims it.

I find it funny you getting upset over it, and it’s rather confusing. There is nothing wront AT ALL with wanting the Church to proclaim Mary as Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix, and advocate!

I mean its not worth losing sleep over and if it upsets someone I would check if the devotion they have is true. There is no reason at all to get upset for wishing such a thing for Our Holy Mother!

Many were saved in times past before many of the dogmas we have today were infallibly defined. You are correct that you don’t need a fifth Marian dogma to be saved.

Dogma however is not a matter of need. Dogma is a matter of revealed truth. That’s all dogmas are, truths revealed to us by God through his Holy Church. Dogma’s are simply God wishing to reveal to his Church a truth.
There is absolutely nothing more needed to make Mary’s honour complete. That is simply fantasy.

Mary’s merit of our honor was complete when she was chosen by God before time to bear God in her womb. That much is correct.

Pope Pius IX stated in Ineffabilis Deus that one of the reasons for elevating the Immaculate Conception to dogma was “to intensify the people’s piety and enthusiasm” for veneration of the Mother of God.

Just as we don’t honor Jesus enough in our prayer life and in our daily behavior, in the same way we fail to honor the Mother of God in our day-to-day lives. The Theotokos deserves better than us fighting with each other and killing each other. If God wishes to reveal a truth to us about Mary so that we can better give her the honor that is due her by right but which we fail to give, then God will reveal that truth to us through His Church.

I sincerely wonder why you and snarflmike are so resistant to the idea of fifth marian dogma.

Speaking only for myself, I am resistant to pep-rally or political-convention feel to the whole endeavor, as though we can somehow fire up the Holy Spirit to do this. If it’s true then of course I will accept it. But we do not decide what is dogma, God does, and transmits it through the Church. Better, then, not to pray for this dogma (or against it), but simply to pray that God’s will be done in this matter.

As Tim points out, the cry of the people help, history proves it. Pope Benedict XVI asked to pray for a new pentecost! And it will happen!
