Yeah… so I’m still on “No.”

Respect certainly, veneration sure, required for Salvation absolutely not.
This is not up for votes. Christ established a kingdom, a monarchy and not a democracy.

His teachings through the Church is not for us to vote on whether we like it or not.

I think we agree, do we not, that Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and we are given no other name by which we may be saved. Correct?

We further agree, as Catholics, that because Jesus instituted His one, holy, Catholic and apostolic church to carry out His mission which was to 'baptize all in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit" that anyone who is saved is saved through Jesus by means of membership (normally Trinitarian baptism but in extraordinary circumstances through what is termed baptism of blood --i.e., martyrdom for the faith even if not a ‘baptized’ Catholic-Christian, or baptism of desire–i.e., the person, had he or she known of Jesus and His teachings that person would have absolutely consented to baptism but never had the chance–such as most people who lived and died before Christ’s incarnation) in that Catholic Church.

So if we accept that as Catholic-Christians we are saved by Christ through His Church–then we accept what His Church teaches.

We don’t pussyfoot that we can accept ‘some’ teachings and not others–especially not that our ‘conscience’ supports us, when most who make that claim do not have a well-informed conscience to begin with.

We don’t pussyfoot that unless it has been spelled out in Amurican English by the Pope speaking ex cathedra we ‘don’t have to accept it’. There are a LOT of ‘ordinary infallible’ teachings from the Magesterium that are just as ‘infallible’ as the ‘ex-cathedra’ statements.

That being said, we don’t condemn outright those who struggle with the teaching. Struggle of course meaning that they don’t fully understand, they aren’t really sure what is being taught–but they are willing to accept whatever the Church says on the matter.

That is struggle. Doubt is another matter. It’s one thing to say, “I am not sure what is being taught and I don’t want to say I support something I don’t understand until I DO understand it”. That is perfectly all right.

It is quite another to say, “I think what is being taught is wrong and I refuse to accept it.” That is doubt; it is a grave sin to doubt the teaching of the Church. It isn’t a sin to struggle or to have trouble understanding. It is a grave sin to ‘think’ you DO understand and to find yourself claiming the Church is WRONG to support that teaching.

Please be careful to differentiate between honest struggle with understanding a teaching, and obstinent, wilful doubt in thinking that you know ‘better’ than the Church.

For my part, all I am saying is… It may not be defined as a dogma yet (Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces, Advocate, Helper). But this is taught in the Catechism. So many theologians, saints and popes have taught the same. And there is no single church document that refutes this.

This is really a question of church traditions, papal encyclicals vs. personal opinion based on the logic of “Sola Scriptura”, that everything must be written down and everything must be explicitly defined as dogma in order for it to be worthy of belief.

All in done in humility. Peace Bro.
if Co-Redemptrix is taught ANYWHERE, it is a grave error, and all who support it are heretics.

Mary differs on all three counts. 1) Mary only a creature, but it was appropriate that God be freely choose her as Mediatrix because he had made her Mother of the God-man, the Redeemer–it was she who on behalf of the whole human race consented to God’s plan of salvation by proclaiming herself the handmaid of the Lord. 2) Her role was not necessary, since Christ was and is the perfect Redeemer and the perfect Mediator. Rather, Mary was associated with her Son by the free decision of the Father, a decision which we cannot ignore.

Mary devotion being required for Salvation is NOT church law. Thank you.

I’m the OP for this thread. Where did I “talk in circles”? Where did I go “on other subjects?” I like to specifically quote saints and popes because then, if yiou have a disagreement, it is with them. The title for this thread means what it says, and says what it means.
I didnt mean to be disrespectful i just dont understand where in your quotes it says the word necessary for Salvation. Please understand im not saying your quotes are false, im just saying that they are not saying we MUST go to the Blessed Mother for Salvation nor is she able to GIVE it. Only Her son can. I just think like alot of other people here agree that this is not true. You must also realize , i understand the level you are on. But it takes alot of study and understanding of the faith to be even able to begin to realize, what you are saying. IT takes not only total devotion to the Church and faith, but its also intercession. You cant get salvation from Mary without intercession. That is how it works thru Mary to help us. But do you mean that you believe that alone without Christ with just the BLessed Mother we can get to heaven. Is that what you are saying? I again just dont understand whats being said is all. It seems to me thats what you are saying? Again i dont understand whats being said. Please no quotes, just your words so i can understand better, thanks.

Devotion To Our Lady Is Necessary For Salvation.
So Jim, you’re saying that everyone who lived/died before Mary was BORN is going to Hell?

Sorry this doesn’t pass the ‘kindergarden-er test’ .

For the record, don’t get me wrong, I am devoted to Our Lady, she did after-all bring be back to her Son, our Christ, and helped me to humble myself before Him and have hope and trust in Him in a way I never could do alone, and continues to no-doubt intercede for me when I stumble, but please do not ‘confuse’ others least you lead them astray! 🤷
