I have a statue of Our Lady of Fatima (don’t tell mom it’s a Catholic apparition of Mary, shh…) beside my bed at home. I plan on taking it and my statue of Jesus Christ Crucified (it was fiber optic but I removed the materials for the fiber-optic: lights, etc.) to college in the fall with me… However, I have a question… I’m not too sure of how to go about a devotion to Our Lady of Fatima.

I heard that The Fatima Network isn’t that reliable and that Fr. Gruner is a Canadian priest and isn’t reliable. He is always going on that the Third Secret of Fatima hasn’t yet been revealed… Is that true? Should we worry about that?

What are some ways to maintain devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and resources to learn more about this devotion?

Devotion to Our Lady Of Fatima is fully approved by the Catholic Church. One of the children that Our Blessed Mother appeared to at Fatima, Portugal was Sister Lucia. She has written two books “Fatima in Lucia’s Own Words” Vol.1&2.

The books are available from The Rosary Center. rosary-center.org

God bless You. Peace.🙂

and I’m totally telling your mom.

Jude, This is the Church approved, official site for Our Lady of Fatima, I got it from EWTN, and that is a trusted site.

Sr. Lucia has said herself that everything was done the way our Lady wanted it done, by Pope John Paul II.
The letters, documentation, etc…are all on that site. No worries.
Our Lady of Fatima is awesome indeed.

If she doesn’t find out from you, she won’t find out until it’s too late when I’ve already become a confirmed Catholic next Easter.

If you want to tell my mother (who is my grandmother by birth, mother by adoption) who happens to be devout Pentecostal Holiness… go right ahead and hear her chew me out and call Pentecostal preachers to talk to me about this “grave decision” that I am following right into the traps of the devil by becoming Catholic and partaking in the Sacraments of the Catholic Church.🤷

Our Lady of Fatima asked for prayer and penance we were told as children, and I have never forgotten this.

Blessings and Prayers…with regards…Barb:)

Since Our Lady of Fatima… revealed herself as the Lady of the Rosary… I would suggest that the best place to start… would be to pray the Rosary… especially for world peace. God bless you. 🙂

Who does your mom think the Our Lady statue depicts? The Queen of Portugal? Which is why Mary has the crown by the way.

Reclaiming Your Children for the Faith - Paperback book by Rev Robert J. Fox

This book is openly honest on failures which led to many abandoning the practice of Catholicism. If read by those who have left, the contents will be a great impetus to understanding how they may not have recognized the true faith of Catholicism. Others will recognize how some misrepresented the true faith. Those who left for moral reasons may be inspired to become moral now themselves. Parents will discover what happened to their children and what to do now.

Father Gruner (“Fatima Crusader”) unfortunately has been in disobedience to the Church. There are other Fatima apostolates to look into.

Hi Jude,

It seems like you have already received a lot of good responses and I hate to add one more. You asked:
What are some ways to maintain devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and resources to learn more about this devotion?
I recently read and was amazingly impressed with the following book:

John Paul II, The Pope Who Understood Fatima

I have read many wonderful books on Fatima before but this one has amanzing insights that I had never learned before. Pope John Paul II really understood the Mystery of Fatima;)

I pray this helps,

To Jesus through Mary 👍

Edward Henry

PS.: Regarding Fr. Gruner, just pray for him.

Who does your mom think the Our Lady statue depicts? The Queen of Portugal? Which is why Mary has the crown by the way.

Interesting that you should mention that!
😉
*She is the official Queen of Portugal! 🙂 *
" **"At the royal courts celebrated in Lisbon in March of the year 1646, and in the presence of all his Portuguese nobility and the Prince Elect, King João IV declared that he was officially taking the Virgin, “Our Lady of the Conception” as Patroness of the Kingdom of Portugal. He promised to her in his own name, and in that of all his successors, the yearly tribute of 50 Crusados of gold…

"Portuguese historians also report another amazing historical fact! On that date, in the Village of Vila Viçosa, King João IV (John IV), the royal monarch of Portugal, proclaimed Our Lady of the Conception the Patroness of Portugal by removing the crown from his own head and placing it at the feet of the image of Our Lady of Conception, proclaiming Her as Queen**.

An even more striking fact is that from that day on up to the present, never again did the Portuguese monarchs ever placed the royal crown on their heads. What an amazing proof of royal Marian devotion! Even some of the kings’ wives refused to be referred to by the title “Queen of Portugal.” Did this crowning of Our Lady have validity before God’s eyes? We can be sure of that! God respects man’s jurisdiction. The Portuguese king officially abdicated the crown of Portugal on our Lady’s behalf. The Virgin Mary is officially the Queen of Portugal."
According to the book, exactly 300 years later, on May 13 of 1946, Pope Pius XII sent the Nuncio to crown Our Lady in Fatima to make official the kings royal decree. On that day, Pius XII then proclaimed Her not only Queen of Portugal, but Queen of The World, as well!

To Jesus through Mary. 👍

Edward Henry
