Devotion to St. Jude, Patron Saint of the Impossible

Today, Oct. 28, is normally the feast of St. Jude (together with his fellow apostle St. Simon) but it is superseded this year by the Sunday liturgy.

Nevertheless, having just finished the St. Jude Novena where one promises, in addition to saying the prayers, to make the name of St. Jude known so others can invoke him, here is a nice St. Jude page with lots of prayers you can say to this awesome saint, who was St. Joseph’s nephew and Jesus’ cousin.

St. Jude was my father’s Confirmation/ patron saint and is one of my go-to saints. He just helped me with a big challenge (and said “hello” to me in an unusual way while I was in the middle of it).
St. Jude, pray for us in all our challenges!

I saw a special on criminal gangs in Florida a while back. Apparently Latino gangs regard Saint Jude as their patron. This especially pertains to police finding saint Jude candles in places referred to as “trap houses.”

He is an incredible saint and his patronage is much needed in our world for people from many walks of life.
