I’ve been a police officer for 19 years and am a recent convert from -gasp!- agnosticism. Our patron saint is Michael and his was the name I was recently baptized in.

👍

Congrats & welcome home!!! :clapping:

We had a human-size statue of St. Michael at the church, I will post it up sometime soon to this thread. 🙂

Thanks be to God!
I went to my church today and took the picture of Saint Michael. It is made by wood and imported from Italy. He’s huge - human sized.

He is placed right at the right entrance of the inside of the church.
When I stand next to the statue, my head is about right where St Michael’s feet. but I am not the scary-looking devil guy under the Saint’s feet though. 😃

My four year old daughter has an absolute devotion to him. It’s the strangest thing- I, because of my devotion to Our Lady, naturally encouraged that devotion, thinking that she’d respond, but it wasn’t until I taught her about St. Michael that her eyes really lit up.

She learned the St. Michael prayer in less than two days, begged me to find a poster of him to hang in her room, has long conversations with him, while meditation on said poster, and never ever neglects the St. Michael prayer during our family decade of the Rosary.

She tries to teach the prayer to her daddy, but he’s not catching on as quickly as she’d like and she’s beginning to get disappointed with him 😉

When she gets a little older, I’m planning on teaching her the St. Michael chaplet.

AHHH!!! What a blessing!

Does your daughter know about the chaplet yet? Perhaps you ought to wait a while. She might insist that you teacher her!

When I was first becoming interested in Catholicism,
the first (and still my favorite) Catholic Church I ever attended (and took some RCIA classes at) was
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church
in Miami, Florida.
I don’t think that that was coincidental.

I don’t think it is either. 🙂 God bless.

Did you know that my girlfriend has been praying for me to have devotion to St. Michael? Well, her answer has been granted, and that I have to say thank you all for opening/discussing this thread - it is how my girlfriend’s prayer got answered and now I am in - for doing all this, I honor and praise the Lord for giving us the loving, powerful yet faithful Angel to the Lord.

I am a woman & I live alone. I used to think every little sound was someone trying to break in, or something…
Then someone suggested praying to St Michael…I also had another person (who knew nothing about my personal life), give me a St Michael chaplet.
I fall asleep peacefully, knowing that I have:thumbsup: angels looking after me…

Just another tidbit on my 4 year old’s devotion to St. Michael. She is, at this very moment, chasing down her brother, plastic sword in hand, reciting the St. Michael prayer. I believe, in this scenario, that her brother (who is not quite two) is the devil she’s thrusting into Hell.

This, by the way was completely spontaneous play, as she had no idea that I was reading this thread at the moment. Or even what a “thread” is.

:rotfl: That is too funny! What a sight that would be to see.

I love St. Michael and have his icon with spear and shield on my desk. I also have a St. Michael medal. My boss is Jewish and I work with two Muslim girls and we’ve found that a devotion to St. Michael is common to all three faiths.

I pray the St. Michael prayer every day.

Not to derail the thread, but have you been checked for Sleep Apnea?
Rawb,

I am sorry to miss your post. No, I don’t have Sleep Apnea. It is something about my nostril. At all time 24/7, either one or both nostrils get swollen inside, thus I can not have enough Oxygen intake. It’s been with me for about 20 years. I am kinda used to it - at least trying. 🙂

Try Chlor-Trimeton. It really really helps my sinus inflammation, so maybe it can help yours too.
