Hey everyone 🙂

Quick question for you all… I’m looking to increase my devotion and understanding of the Eucharist. This includes the practice of Adoration. Anyone know of any good books, prayers, or particular saints? 🙂

Blessings!

The book is the Holy Bible. There You will find all You need to know. And You can always talk to a priest. Bless You,Totterman

Praying the psalms before the Tabernacle is an ancient practice, as is saying the Rosary.

The Rosary is also a biblical prayer and helps us focus on the Incarnation of the Son of God and how He came to us through the Most Holy Virgin Mary. The Jesus Prayer is also excellent.

The Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Eucharist is also that of Mary.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us . . .

As well as the Rosary, it is good to pray the Divine Office. The easiest version is the one composed for lay people: Christian Prayer or Shorter Christian Prayer. My dh and I own both versions. Christian Prayer contains more, but Shorter Christian Prayer is nice for ordinary days that aren’t major feasts. You can buy either one at any Catholic bookstore or online. Here is a short article on how to pray Christian/Shorter Christian Prayer, just to get you started. Also, you can read the Mass readings for the day. They are also readily available online. You may wish to read Story of a Soul, by St. Therese or the writings of St. Francis de Sales, St. Louis Marie de Montfort, St. Alphonsus de Liguouri, etc., as well. Any good Catholic bookstore will have their books or you can do a Google search onlne. All the best with Adoration, please say a prayer for us at CAF. 🙂

Reflections And Prayers for Visits With Our Eucharistic Lord by John J. Cardinal Carberry

I will tell you what aided me greatly.

The first sorrowful mystery of the rosary=the agony in the garden…

It was there Our Lord asked His apostles to stay with Him, inquired “can’t you stay with me just one hour” when He found them asleep.

Pick up your Bible, go to Adoration and read the agony in the garden. Then meditate on it. What was it like so much so that He pleaded with those whom He loved so much during His mission to stay with Him, “just one hour”…

You will be blessed. 🙂

Adoration: Eucharistic Texts and Prayers throughout Church History by Dan Guernsey

This is a great book and it is good place to start.

I do a rosary or a Chaplet of divine mercy. Sometimes I just sit and listen though. I’m trying to increase my devotion to the Eucharist also.
