I personally think it’s more fruitful and nicer to advocate for Our Lady’s.

I believe that is what I’m doing…

I read the included article in National Catholic Register early today and was saddened…It seems like more and more often, we are seeing erroneous statements like this in Catholic press. In the article, the author advances the position that saying the rosary and devotion is required… stemming from the idea that belief in Fatima is a required belief… Of course, the Church does not teach that any of these things are required.

It is quite evident that many Catholics are misinformed on the Church position and why non-Catholics would get the wrong impression of Church teaching based on these erroneous publications

I can understand being concerned about what Protestants might think, or other non-Catholics, but just pray for their understanding.

Rosary and devotion are required if the Holy Spirit moves you in that direction, not so much in the sense of duty but out of love.

Maybe the Holy Spirit is stirring you to greater devotion? How will you respond if so?

One gets the impression from the article that these devotions are a must… which is not true. I’m just clarifying. I don’t understand the venom.

Thank-you for your understanding Timothy. I’m also concerned about impressionable Catholics, not just non-Catholics… it would be nice if we represented these devotional practices as aids that one can chose to indulge in or not

Thanks Techno… this is another private revelation and devotion that a Catholic can choose to indulge in or not. There would be no negative consequences to a good Catholic if she were to never participate even if Jesus allegedly asked for it.
