Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today is the First Saturday of the Month – a day on which many Catholics still offer reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for all the blasphemies hurled against her. I used the word “still” for many have either forgotten or never learned the messages shared by Sister Lucia of Fatima. It is amazing to me that the Catholic Church has “lost” so much of its devotion to the Mother of God.
“How did it come to this?” The king asked seeing his people in grave danger of attack. Those words from the trilogy of Tolkein"s Lord of the Rings come to mind. The King did not oppose the evil forces from the start, but allowed evil to grow and himself to be deceived, until he grew weaker and weaker, finally facing the consequences. How many in the Church have been, and are asleep in our own day, allowing the evil enemy to deceive them and to grow unchecked? Look at the empty pews at Sunday Mass – where are our brothers and sisters? “How did it come to this?” Let me repeat the words of St. John Paul II, spoken 33 years ago:

Not all of us may be able to participate in Mass and Holy Communion on First Saturdays. Some Churches no longer have a Saturday morning Mass. Nevertheless, it seems to me we all can find time to pray the Rosary and spend 15 minutes “keeping our Mother company”. Sister Lucia wrote in her book* “Calls” from the Message of Fatima"*: Jesus wants… to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart" (Chapter 13 - “The Call to Devotion to the Immaculate Heart”). If you have never read this book it is well worth your time and money. If you haven’t time or money to do this, then at least please read from the link below and do whatever you can to “Behold your Mother” and take her into your life on this First Saturday of November. Thanks. You will never regret turning to Mary, the best of all mothers. You will never regret hearing Jesus’ words and obeying the Truth you hear.
