Has any one ever heard of this?

Someone brought it up to me. There’s a web site for it, and the prayers appear to have an imprimatur. Apparently (and predictably) it arises from some extraordinary phenomena experienced by a Teresa Higginson in the UK. She seems to have been a pious soul. Whether the apparitions have been approved is unclear.

Off hand, it just strikes me as odd and unnecessary.

Teresa Higginson’s Cause was closed by the Holy See in 1938, and the imprimatur allowing devotion to the Sacred Head of Christ, as promoted by her, was revoked by Archbishop Downey of Liverpool in the same year, with this being confirmed by his successor, Cardinal Godfrey, in 1949.

At the bottom of the website it says “In relating the following incidents and graces the creator of this website has no intention of anticipating the judgment of the Holy See, to which entire and willing submission is made.” Which is odd, given that the cause was closed. In another place, I noted that the reason for resurrecting the cause, is imply playing on words - sophistry?

Personally, I would steer clear of it. From what little I quickly read elsewhere, no one doubted her piousness but there were doubts over her visions etc.

Like Nelka said, it reminds me of the devotion to the Holy Face, which our pastor promotes. I have seen that image (of the Sacred Head) somewhere in a video produced by the Legion of Mary. Perhaps Frank Duff practiced this devotion.

Thanks! This is an enormous help.
