I have a great devotion to the sacred heart of jesus. I pray the novena to the sacred heart of jesus every day.It is the one that padre pio prayed each day,and is very similar to the chaplet of divine mercy. I have great faith in this novena and know that Jesus answers my prayers the way he feels is best for me and mine. I found this novena to be unfailing, whether I prayed for my now deceased parents, my family, or other requests.

Putting my hand up for devotion to The Sacred Heart.👍 …since childhood. Nuns taught us a beautiful aspiration (amongst quite a few thankfully) “Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee, no matter what befalls me Lord, nor dark the hour may be”.

Great question in anticipation of the Feast of the Sacred Heart tomorrow (May 30). Thanks to my deceased Mom - the image of the Sacred Heart is in several rooms of the house. I prayed before His image often when she was hospitalized - begging to make the right decisions. Ironically, I’m finding some prayers that I remember hearing Mom say when I was younger that I thought were old and forgotten - still said today.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee. Sweet Heart of Jesus, be Thou my love.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Strangely, in recent months, I’ve remembered a prayer (almost completely by memory), which I love – Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Hi Kate 👋 Thank you for sharing, and for the gentle reminder of the importance of this devotion. You’re right about the Sacred Heart devotion being similar to the Divine Mercy Devotion. Because the Fountain of Divine Mercy… flows FROM the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. 🙂 God bless you.

I know this devotion. It was recited every day by St. Padre Pio. It is indeed a powerful Novena.:blessyou:
 
In another thread it has been quoted that in Canon Law if a Solemnity falls on a Friday, we are exempted from the Friday Obligation of Penance.
I think that probably The Church in making the Solemnity of The Lovingly Merciful Sacred Heart of Jesus fall on a Friday (and thus exempting us from the law of penance on Fridays) is underscoring the importance of this great day.
