Does anyone know if there is a particular Devotion to the Suffering Lamb of God? I know there are Devotions to the Sacred Heart, The Divine Mercy and I’m sure many others, but I am interested particularly in the Suffering Lamb if there is such a thing.

Thanks for your help.

I dont know of a particular devotion to the specific symbolic image “suffering lamb” representing Christ.

But the phrase “agnus dei” is often used…

And the Suffering Christ is in fact the CENTRAL devotion, as it were.

If you desire a devotion to the suffering Christ, be devoted to the Eucharist, perhaps becoming a Eucharistic Minister or someone who regularly participates in Eucharistic Adoration

It may sound bizarre, but I had a dream quite a few years ago that I was holding a lamb as it was dying, (there was quite a bit more to it than that, graphically) and I knew then it meant something very spiritual concerning my life, but now I know that it had to do with me becoming Catholic, on a simpler level, but I think it means something on an even deeper level, thus my inquiry about a specific devotion.

Thanks for your suggestion!

Your call is to be devoted to Christ in the Eucharist, the Lamb Who lays Himself down for all in this Sacrament and as such you lay yourself down with Him in this Sacrament offering yourself to Him, with Him, for Him and for others. You have been called to such a high degree of beauty, you are very blessed. I am so pleased for you, your call is such that many have holy envy of it. I am happy for you and your dream, in it’s simplicity, is sometimes how the Lord communicates to souls. How lovely is that! 🙂

Thank you so much for these words of encouragement! I have been going through such a rough time lately coming to my confirmation, today being a particularly hard day, and this really means a lot to me. The timing was heaven sent. :angel1:

Only one more week!

🙂 That week is a blink in the eye of the Lord and His grace will see you through, I know it.

My humble prayers are with you and a soul who asks and believes what they ask for will happen, does indeed happen, we need only envision it in the Lord and He brings it about if it resides also in His will, you reside in His will…remember Jesus said ‘Be not afraid’

All is well all the time despite what circumstance may dictate because Jesus is the Lord of all life. 🙂
