I’ve read all about the brown scapular and I have one. I hope to be enrolled once I become Catholic this Easter. When I got the brown scapular it came with a booklet explaining special devotions (I thought?) that one must practice to Our Lady. Since then I have misplaced the booklet.

Are there specific devotions we must do to Mary once we are enrolled, or simply just have a special devotion and be faithful in doing our own devotions to her? I’m a little confused… is there a place I can find what I should be doing/praying daily for wearing this scapular?

Secondly, I can’t seem to find on any of the websites… how exactly do you become enrolled? Just ask a priest, I thought.

Welcome to the Church, MegShmeg! 😃

The Brown Scapular (as it is popularly known) is the habit of the Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. You will find the answer to your questions here on an official website of the Carmelite Order: The Scapular.

in regards to the brown scapular, you basically have a couple things you must fulfill, which can be found online at a few websites.
but specifically, chastity according to one’s state in life and
one of the following. praying the little office of the blessed virgin mary daily or praying a daily rosary (which i think u have to ‘get permission’ from your enrolling priest)
i say the rosary as my promise. dont have the little office book
actually bought a new scapular today! needed a new one, the old one is fallin apart!

God Bless,
Mordocai
