Struggling, first of all, I will not judge you for this post - I am simply shocked. But I must actually thank you for making me realise yet another truth from the Imitation:

“What matters this or that to you? Follow Me. What is it to you if a man is such and such, if another does or says this or that? You will not have to answer for others, but you will have to give an account of yourself. Why, then, do you meddle in their affairs?”(Book III, ch. 24)

I am going to make this a golden rule for myself in the future. You have proven that meddling with other people’s affairs, solicitated or not, leads to evil.

I highly recommend the same to everyone. For the peace and quiet of our souls.

but Margita, does that mean that if I need to speak to someone about something thatis happening in my life, you would not be there to give advice?

Anyone who finds themselves in physical danger needs to contact professional resources to help them ascertain an appropriate course of action. Despite the good intentions of posters, taking advice from an internet forum in this particular situation could lead to serious repercussion.
