“may mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance.” Jude 1:2

So I made a post with advertising the March for Life and then one of the contacts made a positional statement on abortion that I quickly deleted. I was like “not going to deal that” and clicked delete.

If he was trolling perhaps I was justified but if he wasn’t am I being a bit uncharitable by at least not engaging him in dialogue?

I guess I kinda have the answer already-be charitable,be open minded,be kind but don’t be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Any further tips for dealing with friends with different perspectives, not appear like you’re preaching to the choir and perhaps get people to well pay attention to your post?

I am learning to pray first, then discuss with the person who wants to dialogue with the peace of Christ.

If they personally attack you for what you believe, then politely end the conversation.

It doesn’t sound like you were being uncharitable for deleting, just cautious. We all learn new ways to handle such encounters.

May the Lord be with you on your spiritual journey!
