I know that homilies are to be given only by a bishop, priest or deacon. But what is official position on “dialogue homilies”, where the priest allows others to share their thoughts or make a comments from the pew?

As with so many things, there is no “official position” on this. Dialogue homilies first appeared in the 70s as a way of getting the people more invovled in the Mass. Some priests continue this practice.

While there is no “official position” I believe that it is contrary to the intent of the directive that only clerics may give homilies.
