Hi all,
My family and I went to a different parish than normal this past Sunday and were confronted with something I haven’t seen before and think is probably not allowed during the homily, which was given by a deacon. At the beginning of the homily the deacon and the priest had a little dialogue (which was more like a comedy routine
, but that is beside the point). Is this acceptable as both men are in Orders and both are allowed to give the homily?
Also, this parish calls forth all the kids at the end of Mass and Father blesses them. My kids really enjoyed this, but I’m not sure it is permissible. Does anyone know?
Thanks.
