Personally I think men like Robertson just need to be ignored more than anything else. Any attention they get distracts people from the true purpose of the faith.

No man is worthy of worship, only God!

The only thing worse than sinful men is corrupt news organizations like ABC, NBC & CBS News, etc. who are made up of numerous sinful men, spewing mostly fraudulent lies they claim to be “news”!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

I’m just hoping for the people sending their money in to his ministry to realize they are being distracted from any good purpose. He is not representative of the ancient christian faith. And an example of how far one can go when they have no oversight.

Funny you mention that too, because I was just studying First Corinthians a while ago, and was reading the part where Paul warns Christians about lying and cheating brothers and sisters in Christ. 😉

Who says Orthodox and Catholics don’t read their bibles daily? 😉

I am posting this here, because I really think non catholics are more outraged over this than catholics and orthodox are. Non catholic christians seem to love this guy. I don’t think the majority of the catholics or orthodox are large fans of him.

I am wondering what the bible says about all this?
Actually only fundamentalist love this guy. Most of my classmates here at MTSO cannot stand this guy.

“Thou shalt not steal”
“Thou shalt do no murder”

This non-Catholic Christian doesn’t like him much.
I’m not even Christian, but I’ll add my two sense. He’s terrible.

“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven.”

He preys on his followers beliefs to make himself rich. I think he is a sick individual. And diamonds are horrible, and fund genocide, which is why I refuse to buy them, and tell others not to ever purchase them for me.

Plus diamonds can be manufactured now, so why buy the ones that exploit people? I never thought diamonds were all that beautiful anyway, there are many more beautiful gemstones, if you’re into that sort of thin.

As for PR, I find him loathsome as they com.

I’m suddenly reminded of that Twilight Zone where three men wake up hundreds of years in the future and find themselves surrounded by gold bars. They end up killing one another for it and are found by some future citizens who see the gold and say, “This used to be worth a lot of money…before they learned to manufacture it.”

Isn’t that what Joseph Smith did with gold bars? Didn’t he manufacture truth into them?

We don’t know, they um ahem ascended into heaven after he was done translating.
It’s never “done” from what I am told here tonight. I think I was told it’s a “progressive” faith/truth?

How is that different than “Make it up as you go along” ? Another question for apologetics!

Progressive revelation, yes. A nice way to make your faith contemporary every 50 years or so.

I’m sure there are Emergent Churches who wish orthodox Christianity had progressive revelation. Darn that Jesus being the same yesterday, today and tomorrow…

You. must. stop. making. me. LAUGH this hard!😃

I love stability. Why would someone want a foundation on sand???

I’d just avoid diamonds from Africa. Don’t know how easy that is most places, here stores advertise locally mined diamonds for patriotic reasons (which I usually dislike), but at least you know they didn’t help fund genocide (I’m pretty sure we don’t have any genocidal wars going on right now anyway.)

You know God is recorded laughing in the Bible. Psalm 2. It says He laughs when people think they can outsmart Him. 😛
Again, who says orthodox don’t know their bible?

Not sure I could imagine a God that could be outsmarted by anyone he created personally. Just thinking in human terms now.
