Is there a scripture verse where Adam and Eve stood in a river for several days as pennance and then the devil tricked eve to leave the river and adam got mad at her?

The tradition in question is found first attested in the pseudepigraphical Life of Adam and Eve, a Jewish commentary or rehashing on the Genesis passages. It’s not very long.
Eve is commanded to stand in the Tigris for 37 days and do nothing. But Satan tricks her, pretending to be an “angel of light” tells her that God said she can come out, so she does. Oops! Screwed up again!
Adam yells at Satan and asks him why he keeps messing with them. Satan tells them that when God created Adam, all the angels were commanded to bow down and worship him. Satan refused and thus was kicked out of heaven. Ever since, he’s been jealous of Adam and Eve and continues to pester them.
The work probably only originates to the 2nd century BCE, and it attests to many developing traditions found in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It’s a neat story.
The best treatment of it can be found in the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, Vol. 2., ed. James H. Charlesworth, Doubleday: 1985.

Umm … no offence to you, but any particular reason why you don’t have access to a Bible to read for yourself? There are plenty of translations online …

Maybe it’s because there are 46 books in the Old Testament and it could be anywhere in there. It wouldn’t have to necessarily be in Genesis’ first few chapters if the story was related by a later prophet.Umm … no offence to you, but any particular reason why you don’t have access to a Bible to read for yourself? There are plenty of translations online …

I did search the bible online and found nothing… but I was sure I heard the story somewhere… I thought I was losing my mind but thanks to the 3rd poster, whowantsumadebo, I now have the answer I wanted. Thank you very much… so good to know I am not losing my mind.

9.5 Now, therefore, come out of the water and I will lead you to the place where your food is prepared.”
10.1 Hearing this, Eve believed him and went out of the water of the river. Her flesh was like grass from the waters coldness.
10.2 When she had come out, she fell to the ground, but the Devil stood her up and led her to Adam.
10.3 When Adam saw her and the Devil with her, he cried out with tears, saying: "O Eve, O Eve, where is the work of your penitence? How have you again been seduced by our adversary, through whom we were alienated from the dwelling of paradise and spiritual happiness?
11.1 When Eve heard this, she knew that it was the Devil who had persuaded her to go out from the river and she fell on her face on the ground and her grief was double, as was her wailing and lamentation.
11.2 She cried out, saying: “Woe to you, Devil. For what reason do you fight against us? What concern do you have with us? What have we done to you that you should persecute us so grievously? Why does your malice extend to us?
11.3 Did we ever take your glory from you or cause you to be without honor? Why do you persecute us, O enemy, impiously and jealously unto death?”
