The first part of the movie came out on Wednesday on EWTN. It’s about pope pius XII, and the holocaust?

I DVR’ed it and watched it on Thursday. It’s very good and I’m looking forward to part II. It is either airing on the afternoon of the 26th or on the 29th. I have the DVR set for both because DirectTV isn’t saying which parts they are and I don’t want to take the chance of missing it and accidently re-recording part I.
I also checked and Amazon is selling it here. In case anyone misses it and wants a copy of their own.

Could I ask, for those who have seen it - is it fair to Pope Pius Xll?
So much out there lambasts him for what people thought he should have done, rather than what we know (or more importantly do not know) he did.
I’d be interested enough to order this from “across the pond” if it was a fair account and does not bash him simply because it is fashionable to do so. I see it is on EWTN, but still, this is one modern Pope whose life provokes such division of opinion.
The editorial (copied below) sounds good, but sometimes the actual product does not live up to the hype.
Have to say that from the review it does look good - but just asking Catholics here who are more likely to give a Catholic review than a commercial one.

Thus far, it is very fair. This film is NOT painting the Holy Father as a Nazi Collaborator at all. I can’t say what will happen in Part II (I haven’t seen it yet) but in part I it shows the Holy Father as doing everything he can to assist the Jewish people. Believe me, if this were another misrepresentation of facts concerning Pope Pius XII, I wouldn’t be wasting my time watching it. So far, I give it 5 stars out of 5!

In which case I am very tempted to order it. I don’t think things should be whitewashed, but I am tired of the way Pope Pius Xll has been demonised in certain sections of the media and his efforts belittled.
I went to Amazon after making the post above and it’s available in the UK - - though for £24.90 which is about $37!
I have a multi-region DVD player so may try to get one straight from the US.

I doubt ewtn would air it if it were filled with anti-catholic misrepresentation of the Holy Father.
