Man didn’t descend from apes. What is closer to the truth is that our knuckle-dragging cousins descended from us.
That’s one of the shocking new theories being drawn from a series of anthropology papers published Friday in a special edition of the journal Science.
Scientists say a 4.4-million-year-old fossil called Ardi – short for ardipithecus ramidus – is descended from the “missing link,” or the last common ancestor between humans and apes.
The 4-foot, 110-pound female’s skeleton and physiological characteristics bear a closer resemblance to modern-day humans than to contemporary apes, meaning they evolved from humanlike creatures – not the other way around.
The partial skeleton “is probably the most important find we have had yet,” says Owen Lovejoy, one of the primary authors on the journal package.

I thought this was a satire-joke when I read the title. Ok, it very funny but wasn’t the intention.

The partial skeleton “is probably the most important find we have had yet,” says Owen Lovejoy, one of the primary authors on the journal package.

“It’s transformative. This is a lot closer to anything that you’d call the missing link than anything that’s ever been found,” says Lovejoy, a biological anthropologist at Ohio’s Kent State University.

Now that we supposedly found the missing link, it refutes Darwinian claims and shows evolution went in reverse. Or else, it shows that chimps are more advanced than humans. Sure – why not? After all, it’s evolutionary theory and “researchers” get to claim anything they want merely by using the words “could have evolved” in their publication. The only way to falsify that is to say “it is impossible that it could have evolved like that” – but only creationists make such statements and they’re always wrong because they believe in the Bible.

In this case, Darwin is proven wrong once again – but that doesn’t matter because Darwin is actually correct about chimps evolving from humans. You just have to interpret Darwin’s writings correctly to understand it. People who don’t know anything about science and evolution actually claim that chimps are ancestors to humans.

Here again, evolutionary scientists contradict other evolutionists – but that’s never a problem either.

Among other things, research on Ardi suggests humans are far more primitive in an evolutionary sense than today’s great apes – like chimps and gorillas – which have continued to evolve from the missing link.

Chimps and gorillas keep evolving and getting smarter. They’re obviously much more advanced than humans. Evolution will do that for you.

“In a way we’re saying that the old idea that we evolved from a chimpanzee is totally incorrect,” he says. “It’s more proper to say that chimpanzees evolved from us.”

The old idea worked very well for 150 years or so. Now we have a new idea. Evolution is based on solid facts like these. Sometimes the scientific facts are proven to be false. But that’s not a problem because we have an endless supply of new facts which help us explain the “real, true, truth” – as opposed to the “old truth” which didn’t quite survive.

Now, some evolutionists will deny the claims from this bunch of evolutionists. But we will be reminded that there is no controversy and no scientists question evolutionary theory at all. Contradictions are not falsifications. The only falsifications that could occur is if something was proven to be false. But in this case, they just said the old (current) theory is “totally incorrect” – so that’s not a falsification at all.

Lovejoy says chimps experienced more profound evolutionary changes in their backs, pelvises, limbs, hands and feet as they adapted to life in the trees than the hominid line of upright species that evolved into humans.

Perhaps it will show that chimps experienced much more profound evolution in their brains also. They actually build cathedrals, write symphonies and work on physics problems. They just do those things in their own chimp-like way which is more advanced than what humans can understand right now.

“Hominids, it turns out to be, are pretty primitive,” he says.

As compared with gorillas – of course. How could anyone doubt it? It’s just great that we’ve got the evolutionary evidence to support that claim now.

Lovejoy explains the actual missing link – or last common ancestor in scientific parlance – may have first sprung up some six million years before Ardi.

It may have. And that’s another solid fact that we can take to the bank.

Then they went into the jungle and crouched over and used their hands for walking – because the jungle has a lot of dirt on the ground and there are also some bushes to duck under. Think about what this article is doing. It is suggesting that one hypothesis of evolution should be replaced with a new hypothesis of evolution in light of new evidence. So, for the creationist, that means they are claiming a victory because something they don’t believe is being challenged by something they don’t believe.

It’s like an atheist claiming victory because Orthodox and Catholic Christians disagree over the filoque.

If you accept that this challenge is valid, then you have to accept that the concept of common descent is valid. If you think that people disagreeing means that the whole theory is invalid, then you have to accept that differences in the articles of faith makes your religion invalid.

Rather silly, isn’t it?

Seriously – regardless of how one describes evolutionary theory regarding humans and brute animals, the point remains that the human species is different in kind because of its unique nature which includes the intimate union of spiritual and material.

I think I got to the part about evolution saying we evolved from chimpazees and I basically had to stop there. Those who study evolution do not say we evolved from chimpazees. Us and the other apes probably evolved from some common ancestor.
