Climate Change has been used in scientific literature among meteorologists for several decades. ‘Global warming’ refers to rising global temperature averages, and ‘climate change’ refers to the activities of a changing climate, such as heat waves, stronger hurricane systems, etc. ‘Climate change’ wasn’t so frequently heard about in mainstream news until relatively recently, but it’s been around for a long time.
