Did God forgive Judas?

What happened with his soul,never heard anybody at Church to speak of him.
Only hate,like everybody is perfect and never will do terrible sins.

God has forgiven Judas.

The milion dollar question is if Judas accepted the forgiveness, which would have thereby reopened his relationship with God.
 
We don’t know for sure what happened to Judas.
I like to think that God forgave him and he accepted the forgiveness and, after some time in Purgatory, will join or perhaps already has joined, his friends in Heaven.

You can certainly pray for Judas’ soul just in case he is still in Purgatory.

When a person kills themself, we do not know if they had a mental illness or a severe mental strain that affected their behavior.
We also don’t know if they repented at the last minute, like 1 second before they actually died when it was too late for them to save themselves.
Only God knows these things.
 
A certain Catholic apologist, one who will remain nameless for the purposes of this thread, has insisted that Judas is in Hell. However…
 
There are people in hell… And he is named in poetry… But theologically we really don’t know who any of those people are.

Its the other way round. We have to repent and ask for forgiveness. When you go to Confession the priest does not say God has forgiven you so will you accept that forgiveness. We ASK and if sincere God accepts our plea for mercy and forgives us.

Not exactly encouraging for old Judas.

Some might see such a statement as condradictory in its interpretion. A departure from the ‘repentance is supreme mantra’ but with Judas it is a curious tale.

One might wonder if his entire existence wasn’t a build up to the role he performed. Or would Jesus have just found another Judas to fill the plot hole, so to speak. 🤔 Interesting stuff.

All is speculation. We know that God saves whom He will. However, Saint Peter wrote that Judas departed to go to his own place. And, our Lord said that it would be better for that man had he never been born. That does not sound good to me.

What a blessing that God alone judges, as we are all over the map.
