Has GOD been through Hell ?

If a God is to set judgment of others and make a decision to send them to hell, then must not that God know completely of what that hell truly is ?

To do so, one would have to be inside that hell such that one may experience it from the same point of view as it will be experienced by a human sinner.

**What do you see ?

Do you see a Cross, Two Heads confronting each other,
or do you see all three ?**

If we start with the proposition that, by definition, God is omniscient and omnipresent, then we must conclude that God has full knowledge of Hell – or any other “place” or state of being.

HOW he knows this (or about any particular thing) – either by sheer knowledge of all things or experientially – would be sheer speculation, since Divine Revelation has not made that specific information available to us, probably because it isn’t vital for us to know the details.

An enticing tidbit in Scripture, however, does give us something to ponder:
Then he will say to those at his left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; …Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." (Matthew 25:41, 45-46)
Who, then, prepared this “eternal fire”?

Are you referring to the Creed?

Jesus Christ descended to Schoel (Abraham’s bosom)… not the eternal Hell. He released the “prisoners” and opened the gates of Heaven for those Jews who had gone before Him and lived a righteous life as per the Old Testament. He didn’t go through Satan’s domain.

Hell is eternal separation from God and God does not make a decision to send people to Hell. People choose through free will to go to Hell by rejecting God’s love and dying in a state of unrepented mortal sin.

Thistle has this right!!! God desires all of his children be with him, but he gives us free will to decide. The only way to go to hell is to reject God. How do we reject God though? We reject God by mortal sin, by not doing for the least of our brethern, by blaspheming the HS, etc… That is why we have the beliefs we have, confession to restore our relationship with God, helping others to help bring another soul to know Christ is the greatest thing we can do, but they can’t get there on an empty stomach can they? Truly, the witness one brings to an entire community by helping others is phenomenal.
