it was not my intention to offend god but yesterday i was imaging my self talking to a therapist and i imagine my self explaining some of the blamphemous words that come to my mind. agian I did not mean to offend god when i said it.

If it was an unwanted thought, and you did not entertain it, you have not sinned.

Hey Andrew,

You should be careful about how many times you post a topic. The moderators will ban you eventually.

That said, now let’s get onto the issue. First, let’s set the ground rules:
  1. We are responsible for our thoughts (perhaps not fleeting ones, but the ones we dwell on). We know this because thinking lustful thoughts is a sin in its own right, but not as bad as committing adultery. This could also be applied to other sins. Imagining saying blasphemous things is a sin, but not as bad as actually saying them.
  2. Being angry with God is valid and ok, as long as you are open to talking with Him and trying to understand that His wisdom is much greater than ours. His plan is much better than any we could come up with. We know it is ok to be angry with God because God appreciated it when Job got angry with Him. Job’s friends talked about God; Job talked to God and had a real relationship with Him. Initial anger is fine, but you must be open to resolving it and coming into a deeper relationship with God because of it.
Question for you, were the thoughts along the lines of taking the Lord’s name in vain (god-darn-it! etc.) or were they more akin to real heresy and blasphemy (God is evil/imperfect etc.)?

This is a possible case of incredible scrupulosity… This poor guy might me worried to death about some unwanted thoughts being sinful, which they are not.
