Hi All

I have a friend who has turned away from Jesus from so many years. I always pray for her when ever she is in trouble and Jesus hears it and always done good for her. I have never revealed about this to her. Today I felt to tell her about the miracles that were happening in her life because of Jesus. And i said everything to her. I dnt know what she felt. And then i asked her to come back to Jesus. And I said what you wish Jesus will listen just keep faith in him. She said i have a wish which is practically not possible, will that happen. I said I will pray for you and see Jesus will definetly make it happen. She said then pray for me. I said in case if that miracle happens will you come back to Jesus. She said I will see. Then i realized what did i say, am i testing God, i felt very bad. I feel that i have sinned against God. Iam really very tensed and worried about the way i talked. I want to take back my words which i said. Is God angry on me. Please suggest me what i have to do such that God forgives me.

Thanks in Advance

Hi Anu…Be in peace and rest assured that God is not in the least bit angry with you - He saw your good intentions! Rather than intending to do evil, your whole intention was to do good. To sin, we need to know that something is sinful and then go ahead and do it anyway knowing we are sinning. To put yourself completely at Peace if you are not there yet, have a talk with a priest either in Confession or by appointment…or perhaps you know some nun or religious sister, or some other Catholic person whom you trust who would put you at Peace.\

Perhaps you could explain to the person that you were not quite spot on to guarantee that Jesus will indeed perform a miracle in response to your prayers and you have just realized this more or less, and that you will be praying for her anyway and hoping she will return to Jesus. Explain to the person that sometimes we want something very bad and pray very hard for it, and it never happens. This is because God knows better than us what is good for us and always gives us what is best for us - sometimes what we want even though it seems very good indeed is not really in our best interests.
But I think you will profit from actually talking with someone in person…or perhaps I hope some other poster can explain things better than I so you can be at Peace. Be assured that the moment we turn to God asking His Forgiveness, it is forgiven. That is the moment of sorrow and repenting. We must only then go to Confession in the case of mortal sin - you did not commit a mortal sin.

God’s Blessings and Peace and Joy be with you…regards - Barb:)

You are a very kind and compassionate person who loves their friends very much. God therefore is not at all angry with you, on the contrary God is very pleased with you. Only Love can say such words as you did and only love can care so deeply for a friend and only love can speak so beautifully of God. Only this kind of love can be so merciful.🙂

Don’t forget the words of Jesus: ‘Whatever you ask for in my name and where two of you are agreed upon it, I shall grant’ (words to that effect). God works with us not against us, we are co-operating with God and God co-operates with us.

Why would God not grant a miracle? God will not grant a miracle if it is asked by a person who is not humble and is driven by pride and not thinking of or seeking God’s glory and that is the only reason.

Ask for much, God is generous. ‘Believe that you have received what you ask’(words to that effect).

Many times I have asked much beyond what seems possible, but I have asked ‘I know You Lord Jesus can do all things, I know if You will it, You can do…’ and then I ask my petition firm in faith I have asked and will duly receive as God wills.

How is any of this a sin? It isn’t, it isn’t mortal sin and it isn’t even venial sin. Don’t let the evil one rock your faith.

As you know throughout the world there are approved apparitions and at those apparitions like Fatima, miracles happened. God does this not merely to prove His work but to glorify His work and His Name.

Why shouldn’t you hope for a miracle, why shouldn’t you pray for one. You hope for a miracle, you pray for one because as you know our God is not mean spirited, our God is not looking at our words, but at our hearts, our God is generous beyond our knowing, our God is merciful, our God is kind, our God is glorious and our God is victorious.

You may ask for a great miracle in all confidence and you may find it takes much less than this and the true miracle will be your friends return to the faith.😃

To really love all people is a very rare gift and God smiles very favourably on those who truly love brother and sister more than themselves.

Do you think that God came and spoke to the Saints saying call this person here and I will do great miracles for them? No He didn’t but the Saint confident in God’s goodness and benevolence called the person and prayed knowing God can do all things and God indeed did all things because of their great faith, God worked the miracle through the faith of the Saint.

I am going to ask God for a great deal for you and your friend and God always takes me at my word, I assure you:) May God take you at your word too.

Stop worrying, start praying and persevere in prayer

It sounds to me that you have put your friend to the test and not God. And it is very easy for any of us to get carried away and presume to know what God thinks or will do especially if he has granted us some special favors. If something is making you feel tense and worried about what you said to your friend, chances are it’s not coming from God. Here is my advice: I think you should go to your priest and have a good confession and then you can have peace. Remember, God loves you!

God always answers prayer.

Sometimes He says, “Yes.”

Sometimes, He says, “No.”

And sometimes, He says, “Wait.”
