Hi, my regular confessor gave me some
advice about not falling into the sin of
masturbation. Last night, I was tempted
and did something else that I thot will
distract me from it and didn’t do what
my confessor advised. I did masturbate,
last night and this morning, I didn’t want to
confess to this priest so I went to an-
other church to confess. I also had an-
other less serious sin and so I went
to my confessor just now and confess-
ed THAT. Did I do wrong in NOT con-
fessing my failure to my confessor?

You can confess to anyone. But you’ll need never progress without faxing the recurrent issue. And would most like be done by keeping the same confessor to help you.

Er, that’s “fixing.” No need to fax. :o

I think you’re RIGHT that I should
stick to the same confessor, I will
confess to him tomorrow.

Well you’ve already confessed it and I’m guessing it was a valid confession. So mentioning it could be recommended, but I don’t believe you need to re-confess something validly confessed. (Though you can ask him of course.)

Good. He is there to help you. Although it it natural to feel embarrassed, or discouraged, such is the state of mankind. We try, we fail. But God is always ready to heal and forgive if we truly are repentant. Some things are very difficult, and his advice could go a long way to beating this. I will pray for a good confession, as you walk on the path to peace.

Thanx PianistClare, I DID make an
appointment to confess, but I think
I made matters WORSE b/c I admit-
ted to my priest that I went to AN-
OTHER priest to confess to and in
my act of contrition, I FORGOT to
say that I did wrong in going else-
where to confess!!

BE at peace. You confessed. You were absolved. Try not to be so hard on yourself when the Lord loves you so much.

I am more concerned about what
it did to the priest!!
You see, he is NEWLY ordained,
just a few weeks, I am fearful it
may discourage or harden him.

Nah. The newly ordained are very enthusiastic and ready to serve. 🙂
Pray for him sure but you take care of yourself too. God doesn’t want you to worry needlessly. You rec’d grace in the Sacrament. Be happy, be thankful, sing a song.
