Today I went to confession after having backslid from Catholicism for a month or so. One of the things I confessed was eating meat on Lenten fridays. Well, I came home and without thinking I baked a sausage and pepperoni pizza and ate part of it. Did I sin mortally, venially, or at all? Thank you.

It’s not a sin unless you knowingly disregard what the church teaches. What you describe was not a sinful action. Say some extra prayers and ask for God’s help to be more mindful.

Ok. Thank you for this clarification. I greatly appreciate it as it eases my mind. 🙂

I’ve done the same thing before…it just slipped my mind that it was Friday. If you feel like you need to go to confession, do, but I wouldn’t worry about it. Just ask God to help you remember next time, like Bee said.

In Christ,
Rand

Did you realize that you were doing this? I think it is a venial sin. I have messed up at least once this Lent on accident. But I wasn’t trying to. So I don’t really know.
