Did I sin?

So… I went to First Friday mass today… and straight after the mass I decided to hang around for another hour for Holy Hour of Adoration of the Eucharist just in order to get that extra mileage for Jesus… but the problem was I was a little edgy and fidgety since I wasnt expecting to stay around for that long. Prior to coming to the church, I was reciting my daily rosary in my car en route (I have a Pray-the-Rosary CD) but I got to the church 30 minutes before the mass started, so I joined a group of old folks in saying the rosary again…

Come time for the adoration after the mass… after a few hymns of praises, we recited the rosary again (now being the 3rd rosary I recited for the day) during the adoration. Honestly I love the rosary, but at this point I couldnt concetrate anymore because everything seemed to be repetitious (but I did finish strong). Instead my thoughts were directed at what I was going to do after the adoration (since its Friday night after all) and throughout the adoration I was also hungry so my thoughts were also focused on where I was going to eat after since I didnt eat anything the whole day…While reciting the rosary, I was starting to get restless physically and mentally and I was moving back and forth from kneeling position, sitting position and half-kneeling-half-sitting position (my buttock on the edge of the pew)…I was also constantly checking my wrist watch back and forth since I was just sort of… semi-eager to get out.

I also had a quickie confession prior to when the mass started ( had a couple of scapulars and medals blessed to as a matter of fact) My question is that did I sin? Was I disrespectful to the eucharist (being the true body of Christ) with my edgyness/restlessness and lack of concentration since everybody else was solemn? I plan to attend the First Saturday Mass tomorrow too and I was wondering if I should go to confession again.

No you don’t need to go to Confession again Love.
Even St Therese of Lisieux complained that sometimes she was distracted in prayer.
It’s human.
You do the best you can, but God knows you are human.
We need to be wise in our devotion. You said the Rosary, went to Confession, and the Mass, said another Rosary, then went to Adoration! The Lord knows you were giving Him the best you could manage. Why would He blame you? I’m sure, as you were unable to overcome your hunger and tiredness, that He would have been happy for you have quietly bow and genuflect\and gone home to take care of your human needs after all that effort

I know a priest who almost left the priesthood, because he had become ill and very thin, until he realized that he was trying, year after year to do everything regardless of common sense. He told me, "I have been able to recommit myself to Christ; this time with realism. I had been trying to ‘do’ too much for God.”
He is a good and holy priest, but where he had become thin, ill, and ready to abandon his vocation because he asked too much of his poor human nature, and realizing he didn’t have to do everything, but to trust in God, he became joyful, still truly committed to God, but he used his good sense in managing himself properly so he could remain a good Catholic priest of use to others instead of a thin, miserable, lost man who abandoned his vocation because he wore himself out.

Saint Pio wrote the following:
“Have you not sometimes loved the Lord? Do you not love God now? Do you not long to love God forever? Therefore, do not fear! Even conceded that you had committed all the sins of this world, Jesus repeats to you: Many sins are forgiven you because you have loved much!”

God knows the effort you put in!👍

I remember being an altar boy during benediction, kneeling on the marble steps holding a candle, during the prayers that seemed to go on for hours. I would often have wax on my hair where it dripped, because I had been making faces in the round bowl part of the candle holder 'cos I was so bored! I would have ridges in my knee caps from all the kneeling! I hope that counts for me in purgatory!😃
