You and others are making the mistake of thinking that I’m saying “the Messiah must fit the requirement of the sacrificial sheep”, when I’m saying “that which was required of the sheep was to paint an exact prophetic shadowpicture of what the Messiah was supposed to perfectly fulfill”.

The Messiah was to die:
  • Without Sin (which is why the sheep had to be without blemish or defects)
  • Within 70 weeks of his ministry (which is why the sheep had to be yearlings)
  • Without a broken bone (which is why the sheep had to be without broken bones)
The sacrificial lambs were perfectly accurate prophetic shadowpicture of the Messiah and what HE would do. He was not trying to fit the sheep’s description; the sheep prophesied his description.

You’re also suggesting that “all prophecies concerning the Messiah don’t have to be perfectly fulfilled”…but such a view opens a HUGE can-o-worms because all of the prophecies that the Messiah were supposed to fulfill were for validation that he was the Messiah…which are worthless if he wasn’t supposed to fulfill them exactly.
Now if you want to toss out John 6:4 then how about the other two verses where John mentions a passover.

" Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs which he did;" John 2:23

and John 11:55:

“Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.” John 11:55

Those two verses along with John 6:4 indicate three Passovers and I do believe Passover occurred but once a year. Also John 11:55 throws cold water on your statement that every Jew went to Jerusalem for Passover. It says “many went”. Many, not all, went.

So your one year theory is rebuked.
When did I ever say every Jew went to Jerusalem for Passover? Find where I said “every”.

I said “The Multitude” - which means “thousands” or “many” Jews - would make their way to Jerusalem (especially “the Multitude” because they were the SAME Torah-believing disciples who followed the Messiah before John 6:52 [not to be mistaken with the Apostles who stayed]).

Also, notice other passages validate those Passovers:

John 2:13 [validates John 2:23] - “And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.”

John 4:45 [validates John 2:23] - “Then when [Messiah] was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.”

John 12:1 [validates John 11:55] - “Then [Messiah] six days before the passover came [back] to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.” Because in John 11:54, the Messiah left Bethany and went to Ephiram.

John 11:1 [validates John 12:1] - “Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.”

John 11:18 [validates John 11:1] - “Now Bethany was near to Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off.” This is why the Messiah went back to Bethany, because it was near Jerusalem; closer to the Passover feast.

John 6:4 is isolated and alone. No other passages validate it.

Here…I’m going to share the “Jewish Feast Calendar” and then the feasts of John and I want everyone to be as objective as possible and then tell me what you think:

1st Month - Feast of Unleavened Bread (& Passover)
3rd Month - Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost)
7th Month - Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles)
7th Month (22nd) - Last Great Day
9th Month - Feast of Chanukkah (Dedications)

…The feasts are ALWAYS in this order. Now, here’s the gospel of John:

John 2:13 - Passover (& Feast) at hand - Messiah goes to Jerusalem
John 2:23 - Passover begins (definitely 1st Month) - Messiah then heads to Galilee
John 5:1 - “Another” Feast (likely Shavuot in 3rd month) - Messiah teaches in Jerusalem

John 6:1 - “After these [teachings] [Messiah] went over the sea of Galilee”
John 6:2 - “And a great multitude followed him…[to Gailee]”
John 6:3 - “And [Messiah] went up into a mountain.”

John 6:4 - “Passover, a feast of the Jews was nigh” - 1st Month again!?

[If this is true, what did the Messiah do between months 4 - 12 of the previous year!? Did he and the multitude fast in the mountain for up to 9 months? Why is it that NONE of the other gospels say anything about this gap in time?]

John 6:5 - “And when [Messiah] lifted up his eyes he saw a Great Multitude…” Feeds them
John 7:2…7:14 - Feast of Tabernacles (definitely 7th month) - Messiah goes to feast in secret
John 7:37 - Last Great Day (definitely 7th month; 22nd day)
John 10:23 - Feast of Dedications (definitely 9th mo. & winter) - Messiah goes to Jerusalem

John 10:40 - Messiah went to Jordan where he was baptisted and stays there for a time
John 11:18 - Messiah goes to Bethany (Near Jerusalem) to resurrect Lazarus

John 11:55 - Jews Passover is nigh and many went to Jerusalem (definitely 1st Month again)
John 12:1 - 6 days before Passover, Messiah went back to Bethany and is annointed w/oil
John 12:12 - Much people came to the feast (of Passover) - still 1st Month

"1st, 3rd, 7th, 7th, 9th…1st,…"
