I would imagine he did right, I mean he would of joined in, it doesn’t excately say in the Bible or maybe it does. Thank you.🙂

He more than likely did; if I’m not mistaking, the Passover is also called the Feast of Unleavened Bread; unleavened break as used in the Hosts was probably employed.

Well the Last Supper was before the Passover Feast wasn’t it?

Well the Last Supper appears to of been the night before Passover and Jesus was already in the tomb. So he ate at the Last Supper with the apostles.

Matthew 26:17-19 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” 18 He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ “ 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

Thanks for the verse.

its so confusing since John 8:29 and 13.29 say something different, but Matt, Mark and Luke say pretty much the same thing that he ate the Passover.

so I’m taking it as the Last Supper was Jesus’s Passover meal then, same thing.

Thanks again for helping me.

John has Jesus celebrate three Passovers while in his active ministry. His death on Good Friday coincides with the slaughter of the lambs for Passover (so whatever meal he shared with his disciples beforehand would not have been a Passover) This was traditionally seen as a ‘theological’ interpretation.

The Synoptic Gospels have the Last Supper on Holy Thursday as a Passover meal (so the symbolic linking of the Lamb of God with the sacrifical lambs is not there). This was traditonally seen as the more historically accurate account.

Some modern scholars, including Pope Benedict XVI, argue that John’s account is more likely to be historically correct.

If what you meant was, did Jesus share the ‘bread’ he gave out to the disciples at the Institution of the Eucharist, i.e. did he eat himself? Then, yes, Catholic understanding is that he did. Whether that was a Passover meal or not is not a matter of doctrine.

Well thats answers all my questions. I found it confusing, being John account was different. Yes I wondered if Jesus ate the bread and wine but I fugured he must have as it sounded like it was his Last Supper also.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.😉

That’s pretty much how I understand it.

You are certainly welcome.
