Did Jesus have brothers?

Could you please explain in Galatians Chapter 1:19 “But I did not see any other of the apostles, only James the brother of the Lord.” A fellow Protestant is using this verse to make an argument that Jesus indeed had brothers. Please advise as to how I can refute the argument of Jesus having siblings with perhaps more passages to show that Jesus was indeed the only child of Mary.
