Yes, the Grinch is really my long-lost twin. I have the skill of sucking the fun out of stuff and making them utterly bland and tasteless, you see. Which, you know, can get tedious sometimes, but you eventually get used to it anyway. On rare days I could actually produce one taste - sour - but only during special occasions.

The bigger problem as I pointed out is people trying to take’s St. Paul’s instructions to the Corinthians who were Gentile Greeks, and applying it to Jesus who lived as a Jew.

On the other hand, isn’t there a problem in saying that we should not apply St. Paul’s instructions to Jews only because the letter was written to the Corinthians? By that same reasoning, we might as well apply his instructions regarding the Eucharist in the same chapter to only the Corinthians. But a Jew “who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself” just as much as a Corinthian. Regarding hair and headcoverings, he does not say, “every Corinthian,” but, “every man” and “every wife.” He does not justify his teaching on the basis of cultural norms in any particular region, but on the order of creation and “nature itself.”
