Did Jesus have sibblings?

Did Jesus have brothers & Sisters?
My understanding of the mention of Jesus having brothers & sisters in the bible is that in the Hebrew language of that time there was no word for cousin so the word brethren was used. Then inclusive language added the word sisters so we now have the mention of brothers and sisters. Am I correct? Also, would Jesus have given his mother to John to care for, if He had had brothers & sisters?
