did Jesus have siblings?

If He did, we know that they are only step-siblings or possibly adopted step-siblings. The reason? Because of Mary’s perpetual virginity, it is not possible that she had any other biological children.

Any “siblings” Jesus would almost certainly have had would have been Joseph’s from a previous marriage, as tradition teaches that the Blessed Mother remained a virgin her whole life. It’s certainly possible that this was his second marriage given the life expectancy of women in ancient Judea. The reference in the gospels to “brothers of Jesus” may also refer to close friends, as the Greek word “adelphos” can have that connotation as well.

While this question may be off topic to the forum. I wonder what it is like financially back in the days of Jesus, living as a Jew.
