Did Jesus speak ONLY in parables?

John Martignoni has challenged us to respond kindly to this article/booklet concerning the mass. I am giving you a link. In this booklet, the author claims that after the last supper Jesus told them that he was speaking to them in parables. I cannot find any verse near the last supper in the synoptic gospels where Jesus says this. I know he says it in other places, but he also says that he then takes his disciples in privacy and explains the parables. anyway, if you can respond in kind to these challenges in this article that would be great. you also might want to send your refutations to John at www.biblechristiansociety.com

John 16:29
His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

Just my opinion here. Although Jesus may have spoken plainly, the words He chose have lasted over 2000 years and are as true today as they were when He first uttered them. They still speak to each of us with no less force or meaning than when they were first spoken.

In many cases He did chose parables, in other cases He may have specifically addressed a topical question, but His answers, like parables, all had eternal meanings. I believe both opinions above to be true.
