Possibly, but that doesn’t change the fact that there are people who actually believe that He studied with Buddha himself.

From a spiritual-religious perspective, this could be true – if there was a living Buddha living in India or somewhere at the time of Jesus. In Buddhism, the Buddha known as Siddhartha Gautama is not the only Buddha around. There were Buddhas before him, and there will be Buddhas after him. Even from a Christian perspective, Jesus could have spiritually contacted the Buddha, if the Buddha were in Abraham’s Bosom or somewhere similar.
