Pax tecum, Paarsurrey!

I’m not so quick to give up my faith in Jesus as Savior, Messiah, and God as to just “make a little research and accept and support it.” I do, however, wish to examine this claim further. If you could, would you please provide the following:

  1. *]Quotations from the Quran that support this theory;
    *]The evidence present in the New Testament and how “deep” they are in scripture, along with relevant publications by Islamic theologians on this theory;
    *]Names of the Islamic Historians that support this theory, as well as any relevant articles published in historic journals (peer reviewed if available) as a result of their research;
    *]Names of medical doctors and historians who examined the “ancient medical evidence” as well as any relevant articles published as a result of their research;
    *]Explanation of the historical Buddhist view, along with relevant Buddhist scripture;
    *]Explanation of the historical Hindu position, as well as relevant Hindu scripture;
    *]Explanation of the interpretation of the Sign of Jonah that leads to this theory;
    *]Articles published by Holger Kersten in original German language as well as English translation;
    *]A synopsis of the BBC documentary on this theory and any relevant information that will allow us to view said documentary on our own as well as a bibliography from the documentary;
    *]Reasons we should accept the word of the “Promised Messiah 1835-1908” as cannon and give our own support of this theory

    Until these 10 issues are satisfactorily discussed, I’m afraid none of us here at CAF will give this position any of our time. While Catholics do take the word of authority from the Magisterium, it does not mean we will give the same privilege to any authority figure of another faith.

  1. Good thinking, I would like to add as follows:
    1. How come Jesus ever been mentioned in Hindu and Buddhist “bible” (as paarsurey claims) as Jesus came more than 1.000 years after Sidharta Gautama from India.
    2. Other book suggested that Jesus spent his year 13 - 30 of his life in Qumran (dead sea society, the essenny society). They claim to be true (off course, otherwise there is no point for them to write their books anyway). So, which one is really true? definitely cannot be both?.
    In fact, people made so many speculations about Jesus’ life. But, they forgot the fact that one of Jesus’ deciple (Thomas Didimus) went to India, and was martyred there. I will come back with this fact later on, since I am far away from my home to give proper quotation. That’s why that Christianism also existed in India. It does not come from Jesus personally.

  1. It proves that Jesus was a truthful ProphetMessenger and his prophecy/sign that he would show Sign of Jonah got fullfilled. Jonah came out from the belly of the fish alive, so must Jesus not die on Cross, he should be saved life against all odds miraculously.
Dear paarsurrey, I appreciate your view of Jesus in your way of thinking. I would not challenge your believe, and I am sure that Jesus will not judge you based on what you believe either. It is fine to me that you accept Jesus based on what you learn. I would like to suggest one idea to you. Jesus himself told his deciple (and us through the bible, I mean christian bible). If Jesus did not die and “escaped” away to India while his disciples were chased, persecuted, and killed, then Jesus lied to us. If Jesus lied to us, then he was not a good leader. A leader in Jesus way of thinking, should be the one who will give away his life to people he leads. I believe that you are not a Christian, and I do not blame you if you do not believe that a dead man ever rose up from the grave. We, the Christian, believe that Jesus died in the cross as He has said before, Jesus rose from dead on the third day (in Jew’s calendar) as He has said before, and Jesus will come again as He has said before. It is also the sign of Jonah will be fulfilled.

This however, has been pointed out to Paarsurrey many times, it will fall on death ears.
He is set in his belief, and i dont think that will change anytime soon…

Hi

You are welcome to present your research. I would be the last person to hinder your research. I myself have no blind faith. I am rather instigating everybody to put on wings of research, whatever the result, and to accept the truth whatever it is. I am there to assist you, if I can.

May GodAllahYHWH bless you with your research.

Thanks

LOL

Sorry paarasurry, should have had a comma after-

I do not believe because I am a Catholic

I see the confusion due to the missing comma.

If Jesus did not go to India, how could you follow the faith you follow?

Hello, paarsurrey ~

It’s a pleasure to speak with a Muslim, though at the moment I must disagree with you on the subject of our discussion. Here’s what the Catechism of the Catholic Church has to say about “the Church’s relationship with Muslims”:

"Those who have not yet received the Godpel are related to the [Catholic] People of God in various ways… The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day… The Catholic Church recognizes in other [non-Catholic] religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as ‘a preparation for the Gospel [of Jesus Christ] and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life.’ In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them… To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The [Catholic] Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is the world reconciled" (pars. 839, 841, 843-845).

So, you see, we’re not so far from one another as it might at first seem. Yet, on this issue of Jesus’ supposed journey to India, we are miles apart. I would simply point out that the earliest and most reliable historical sources for the life of Jesus of Nazareth are the four gospels of the Christian New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Nearly all historical scholars (both Christian and non-Christian) agree on this. It’s not even a controversial point. And, according to those sources, Jesus was indeed crucified by the Romans, truly experienced physical death, was buried in a rock tomb near the ancient city of Jerusalem, was miraculously raised from the dead shortly after his burial, and ascended into heaven in the sight of many eyewitnesses. To deny these facts is simply to disregard the best and most accurate historical sources in existence on the life of Jesus

Why do Muslims like to talk about Mohammed’s companions, yet totally neglect the disciples of Jesus? If Jesus went to India, why did Jude and Nathanael Bartholomew go to India? Just visiting their old friend? I know there is extra-biblical evidence that Nathanael Bartholomew did indeed evangelize in India. If Jesus went to India and was still alive in 50-60 AD why did Nathanael need to go?

Jesus did not visit India. He visited Indiana, learned basketball, and became a Hoosiers fan.:rotfl:

Really, do you think the apostles and their successors would have died for something that was phony? They only would have died for something they either* thought* was true or knew to be true.

I believe that Jesus is the Christ, whereas you believe that Jesus is a prophet who allowed people to be misled about his mission.

Jesus visit India?

No…Jesus was too busy visiting the lost tribe here in America, so that they could bury the golden plates in Palmyra:D

Ah man, you said it before I did. I really wanted to say that…Agh. lol.

Oh well. Very clever though. 👍

Why should we accept your prophet and not Joseph Smith? After all, Smith’s teaching is a bit closer to ours.

Unite or create a new religion?
Dear Paarsurrey, it’s me again. The quotation I took is from Mr.GandalfTheWhite. If we take a look of ourselves, I mean you, me, them, you know that physically and culturally we are different. As a consequency, we will perceive things differently, including the revelation of God to us. For me, It is OK that you perceive Jesus the way you do. It is OK for me that other people perceive Jesus the way they do. Jesus during His service among us, did not proclaim a new religion. I don’t believe that it has to be a single religion for all people. But, it has to be one God for all people. Why people perceive God differently (which is reflected in differences of religions of the world), is directly related to each people’s culture, experiences, environment, education, researches (as we always do), economic activities may be, and many other things, you name it. If God wants us to have one religion only, why did he created people to be different? Or may be why God let people to be different?.

Hi

There is no harm if we perceive things differently. Searching for truth and accepting it would unite us, but our research should not harm others, being tolerant for others faith and remaining peaceful and respecting others would make us better human beings and ultimately unite us. All revealed Religions are truthful in their origin and also their Prophets and Books it is only the debris of time that makes it obscure. GodAllahYHWH revives the religions by sending a truthful ProphetMessenger yet again. This is what the PromisedMessiah 1835-1908 tells us and proves it with rational and reasonable arguments. This is Second Coming of Jesus as Christians are waiting for him.

GodAllahYHWH is one, you are absolutely right.

Thanks
