Why Protestants call Mary a sinner . . . .

Luke 1:46 And Mary said: "My soul exalts the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

**
Hello Tabcom, Of course Mary sings this song of praise to her God, the whole of the Magnificat is glorious.
The Catholic church does not deny that Mary needed to be redeemed like the rest of humanity because she was a child of Adam but her redemption was effected in a more sublime way, indeed by being pre empted cleansed of original sin.
(eg curing of an illness/vaccination against illness) At the instant of her conception the woman Mary was “saved” and hence allowed satan no domination over her. To have Mary on equal playing field as the original Eve. This new Eve was to be tempted like the last one but withstand sin. Original, inclination and actual.
Can you imagine Jesus (divine person) taking residence in a womb touched by original sin? Can you imagine the Holy of Holies to be tainted?
Mary from the instant of her Conception is declared “full of grace” not highly favoured one (which sounds nice, but “full of grace”
Hope this answer is OK for you.
God Bless
Grace A.

God Bless Grace A.

I personally don’t feel a need to defend this position.

I do thank you for an excellent reply. **

Because she had already been graced by God!!!
**Does grace mean ‘without sin’? No. It comes from the greek word Charis.

Charis, grace:
  1. that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness: grace of speech

good will, loving-kindness, favour

  1. of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues

what is due to grace

  1. the spiritual condition of one governed by the power of divine grace
  2. the token or proof of grace, benefit
    1. a gift of grace
    2. benefit, bounty

thanks, (for benefits, services, favours), recompense, reward**

So When a Messenger of God calls you “graced”, consider what is joyful, pleasurable, and a delight to God - someone who is free of sin for God delights not in sin. If they say you are “graced” and you have been graced throughout your life, you’ve got someone who has been sinless throughout their life and without the stain of sin as well.

If you want to believe the twisted untruths of your church, go for it. I will believe what God says over the mere whims of a bunch of men.
Just a question for you, squeekster…What did Christians believe before there was the written Word? I’ll answer for you. They believed in oral Tradition.

Another question: Jesus entrusted the keys to His kingdom on earth to Peter, who passed down his gift to the next pope, who passed it down to the next, and so on and so on, hence, the Magesterium.

So we have the Divinely inspired Word, Tradition, which was passed on from Jesus to the apostles, and onward, and the Magesterium, which was also passed on from Jesus.

From Tradition comes the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Do you think God would allow His Son to be born from a tainted womb? I don’t believe that’s good enough for our Lord.

Mary was saved, by a singular act of grace from God.

Mary’s Immaculate Conception and sinlessness is a divinely revealed truth from scripture and sacred tradition.*

I wish the Protestants would quit stating that they follow “Biblical truth”, etc. The “truth” they follow is merely their highly fallible interpretations of Scripture…and they have no ordained authority from God to interpret scripture in any event. Protestants are opposing God.

  • Many Protestants deny Original Sin, hence, should have no problem with Mary’s Immaculate Conception. For to them, everyone is born without original sin: Immaculately Conceived.

Hi.
In the fullness of time God knew Mary’s response to his request would be YES. This to me is really very easy, either Mary had free will to respond or not; intellect is the key, we
either use it the way God intended in obedience or disobey it with self pride. My other point is
Jesus came into the world to demonstrate that with his help we can do as he did, follow the will of God. Some of our seperated brethern use their intellect very well, when it comes to
supernatural things of Jesus; except when it comes to Mary’s Magnificat Luke 1: 46-56. It just seems strange to me that the Holy Spirit would let the writers of the gospel acknowledge Mary’s own prophetic words, all generations shall call me blessed if it was’nt very important aspect to ponder over. The logical conclusion Mary did not sin and we should all congratulate her for choosing life for us.
May the Holy Spirit Guide us all to the truths of the Catholic Church.

Peace
