Did Mass before Vatican II have readings from the Old Testament?

There were readings from the old testament called prophecies on a number of days, but usually weekdays, however most notably at the Easter Vigil, which included 12 OT readings. One thing to note though is that the whole mass had many chants and verses in it besides the readings, which also included many quotes from the old testament, especially psalms and the Deuterocanon, such as the introits for the sunday after Christmas, the requiem mass, Pentecost, the offertory prayer from Daniel, Psalm 42(43) at the beginning of mass, etc.
