a Jewish woman killed him.
Correction, his two wives Aisha and Hafsa killed him under the coercion of their two fathers Abu Bakr and Umar, whome later assumed the roles of the 1st and 2nd Khalif.

Narrated Ali ibn Ibrahim: “The Prophet said to Hafsa: I will tell you a secret. If you divulge it, Allah, His Angels and people will curse you. So, what is it? wondered Hafsa. The Prophet said: Abu Bakr will be able to seize the Caliphate and power after me, and will be succeeded by your father, Omar. Hafsa wondered: Who informed you of this?. (the prophet answered ) Allah, the Omnipresent, the Omniscient informed me. On the same day, Hafsa divulged the secret to her friend, Ayesha. In turn, Ayesha divulged the secret to her father, Abu Bakr. So, Abu Bakr came to Omar and said: My daughter Ayesha told me a secret reported by Hafsa, but I cannot always trust what Ayesha says. So, you ask your daughter Hafsa, make sure and tell me. Omar went over to Hafsa, and asked her. In the beginning, she was startled and denied it. But, Omar said to her: If you have indeed heard this secret, then, tell us so we can immediately seize power and get rid of Muhammad”. So, Hafsa said, yes, he told me that. At this point, those four got together and conspired to poison the Prophet”

In another hadith, the prophet’s great grandson imam al-sadiq (as) accuses Aisha and Hafsa of poisoning his great grandfather.

Muhammad Ibn Massoud al-Ayashi related:
Imam al-Sadiq (Peace be upon him) was sitting with a group of his followers, and asked them: “Do you know whether the Prophet died a natural death or was murdered? Allah the Almighty says: “if then he died or is killed”. The truth is that the Prophet was poisoned in his last days before he died . Aisha and Hafsa administered poison in his food. Upon hearing this, Imam Sadiq’s followers said that they (Aisha, Hafsa) and their fathers were among the worst villains ever created by Allah.”

Many Muslims like to claim that the Bible is corrupted, so it can’t be a historical document. Well, two can play at that game.

Christianity has non-Christian evidence for Jesus’ existence. But dose Islam have non-Islamic evidence for Mohammad’s existence? Keep in mind, I’m playing by Islam’s rules. You can’t use the Qu’ran or Hadiths or any Islamic text because those are corrupted.
I uh…think this argument is a tad bit silly. 😦

Muslims may argue about Bible corruption and textual variances, but they don’t argue that Jesus never existed. Atheists do that, and some non-Christians do that, but Islam doesn’t deny that Jesus never existed, unless the Muslim is very confused or very desperate for an argument.

So there’s no reason to argue that Mohammad didn’t exist. It’s just as much a fact as Christ’s existence, and Muslims don’t deny either.

thats according to a sect called Rafidism,he was asking about what muslims in general believe

and we believe…a jewish lady killed him

so you can have your sectarian belief but you cant claim thats what islam teaches

Rafidism is a derogatory term you guys use to insult us, and that was unnecessary, but I thought I would point out that even in bukhari/muslim it is reported that in the final days of the prophet’s life, Aisha administered to him an unknown substance as he was directing them not to administer it. And when he confronted her about it, she lied and accused his uncle of administering him the substance.

Coincidentally, Aisha is the only one who claimed the Jewish woman killed him.

no it certainly was not,Im just saying what islam in general states, nothing more or less, its like i ask about something in christianity and then get an answer from a jehovas witness…its not fair since his answer is not what the mainstream christianity says…same here!

and if you want to discuss the islamic texts and the hadith then this is not the right forum

I get what you’re saying, my view is not widely shared, and it’s a different view that I feel people should be aware that it even exists. Most non-Muslims believe that all Muslims share the same beliefs which is not true. Even within the majority general Muslims there’s a lot of differences of opinion on many issues. Many general Muslims also believe he died a natural death despite what’s been said about the Jewish woman.

and by the way, the OPs original question has been satisfactorily answered so there’s no harm in changing the topic 🙂

yes of course there are different views, some are accepted some not, some are considered to be heretical.

No harm in changing the topic but this is not a right forum where muslims with different views should argument against eachother,we have islamic forums for that 🙂

If you want to know the truth this is closer to the correct forum than a Muslim website where I have gotten nothing but long posts that usually make little to no sense.

I posted this on a different thread, but it is vital that we discuss Islam whether the Muslims like it or not. Ignorance of Islam and Sharia (Islamic law) is a Moral, Ethical and Existential Failure
Ignorance of Islam and Sharia is specifically pointed out in doctrine as the condition in which kafirs are to live. Unbelievers are not meant to study the doctrine of Islam; the doctrine is clear about treatment of non-believers by adherents of this ideology.
Allah and Mohammed both hate the kafir. The doctrine of Islam is clear on these points. This hatred of kafirs is codified in Islamic law.
The difference between kafir, infidel and unbeliever is about zero. Especially since there is this verse in the chapter called the Cow: 6. As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. (warn them before they are killed)

I only recommend one go on a Muslim forum if they want to know first hand how they discuss Islam, and how they allow you to discuss it. They monitor you heavily if you are not a Muslim. Only Muslim topics are allowed, unless you want to bash a religion, or the non-religious.

As for how Mohammed died, this article by a guy named Silas is really good: The Death of Mohammed. He did eat some poison and he did linger for a time in pain. I did not read that Aisha killed him. And in this article one woman said he was dying of pleurisy but he didn’t want to hear of that. He said that if it was pleurisy then it meant that Satan was in him.

Technically we are not even supposed to handle a Koran. The guys and gals down in Gitmo have to put on gloves when they give one to the prisoners. I downloaded all the accepted translations myself so I didn’t have to buy one. And I did it years ago because I thought that at some time there would either a ban on us downloading them because we are unbelievers, or that they would start changing what it says for us infidels to be culled into believing it was something other than what it really is.

It’s not a fair comparison since my understanding is that Islam does not deny the existence of Jesus or even that He was a man of God or a great teacher, but they do deny His Divine nature.

My understanding of history is Muhammad’s existence is confirmed. Now, obviously, just as Islam will deny that Scripture is Divinely inspired, non-Muslims will deny that the Qu’ran and Hadiths are Divinely inspired. I think Catholicism teaches that there are elements of the Truth in Islam and all religions, but Catholicism is the fullness of Truth. Islam argues that it is the fullness of Truth.

Yes, it is a fair comparison. It is a comparison of non-Christian/non-Muslim evidence.

Muhammed was poisoned by a Jew woman which seems fulfilled her prophecy about him, per these hadiths:

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 669:
“When Khaibar was conquered, Allah’s Apostle was presented with a poisoned (roasted) sheep. Allah’s Apostle said, “Collect for me all the Jews present in this area.” (When they were gathered) Allah’s Apostle said to them, “I am going to ask you about something; will you tell me the truth?” They replied, “Yes, O Abal-Qasim!” Allah’s Apostle said to them, “Who is your father?” They said, “Our father is so-and-so.” Allah’s Apostle said, “You have told a lie. for your father is so-and-so,” They said, “No doubt, you have said the truth and done the correct thing.” He again said to them, “If I ask you about something; will you tell me the truth?” They replied, “Yes, O Abal-Qasim! And if we should tell a lie you will know it as you have known it regarding our father,” Allah’s Apostle then asked, “Who are the people of the (Hell) Fire?” They replied, “We will remain in the (Hell) Fire for a while and then you (Muslims) will replace us in it” Allah’s Apostle said to them. ''You will abide in it with ignominy. By Allah, we shall never replace you in it at all.” Then he asked them again, “If I ask you something, will you tell me the truth?” They replied, “Yes.” He asked. “Have you put the poison in this roasted sheep?” They replied, “Yes,” He asked, “What made you do that?” They replied, "We intended to learn if you were a liar in which case we would be relieved from you, and if you were a prophet then it would not harm you."

(E) (A)

**Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 713: **
Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O 'Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison.
صحيح البخاري:
يا عائشة ما أزال أجد ألم الطعام الذي أكلت بخيبر ، فهذا أوان وجدت انقطاع أبهري من ذلك السم

(E) (A)
Narrated Ali ibn Ibrahim: “The Prophet said to Hafsa: I will tell you a secret. At this point, those four got together and conspired to poison the Prophet”
 if that hadith was true, then it assures what Jesus told about the false prophets:
“By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16).

How can the Koran be the fullness of truth when it contradicts itself? And then it espouses lying? truth does not equal lying. And the Hadith is not divinely inspired anyway.

Darn, wish I’d known that when my son had to purchase a copy - not to mention read parts of it - for his World Religions class! 😃
