I agree with you wholeheartedly… You see Rev, I love the Protestants… Because, I know the Catholic Faith is hard to follow… And if it weren’t for the Protestants, I honestly believe that the ‘Catholic Church on Earth’ (before the 2nd coming) would have been destroyed long ago.

You see, the Catholic faith is so hard to follow, that if there wasn’t an easier path for men of these generations, they would have simply become atheists… Or even Muslims.

So actually, the Protestants serve to protect the truths of Christianity… By forming rings around it that become easier and easier to follow. Until even homosexuals can serve to protect Christianity, by simply not being atheists or Muslims.

Perhaps we are all part of God’s plan. Just with different missions. Catholic’s serve God to maintain the ultimate (infallible) truths… While Protestants serve to protect the Holy Church and Christianity as a whole, while drawing in more souls. At the same time protecting the faith from atheism and Islam.

It is an amazing system that works… Perhaps God will reward us all ! 🙂 I pray that He does !:highprayer::crossrc::byzsoc::signofcross::gopray::gopray2:
I’m glad to see that we agree on this. 👍 Couldn’t of said it better.God works in ways we can’t understand but as long as we are saving souls and doing what God wants us to do, we all can get along because I believe that is the intent of what God has for all of us. Different missions accomplishing the same thing.

The question remaining: Why does the Holy Spirit provide different truths ??

Answer: He dosent… God provides 1 truth, it is just that the world diffuses it the farther it gets from the core (the Church)…

So the Protestants are Catholics -just faded into worldliness. Still a major part of the system…
:clapping: :tiphat: 🙂

I totally concur… Yours or my salvation is ALWAYS in the hands of GOD… At least we have Jesus in common. 😉 🙂 😃

Wow! Look at the unity on some of the latest posts!!!

Truly Christ is with us this day. not saying he isn’t always with us, before somebody says it

Where does it say that there are 120 brothers of Jesus in Acts 1:12-15? I hope you’re not thinking in verse 15 — totally different thought; context, context, context.

Where Andrew and Simon Peter bio brothers? How 'bout James and John?

If Mary had kids, Jesus would not have had to make arrangements to take care of her as He was dying.

There was no distinction in the Hebrew between the word brother and uncle/cousin/fifth cousin thrice removed.

I am sure this has been said a thousand times already. But excuse me, I do not feel like reading 30 pages of liars trying to shield themselves from the Truth.

If Mary had kids, Jesus would not have had to make arrangements to take care of her as He was dying. As the eldest son it would be His responsibility. He made His choice - John.

There was no distinction in the Hebrew between the word brother and uncle/cousin/fifth cousin thrice removed. The NT was written in Greek, not Hebrew.

I am sure this has been said a thousand times already. But excuse me, I do not feel like reading 30 pages of liars trying to shield themselves from the Truth. And I’m a liar why? For reading the Bible in a straight forward manner?

Can you show us where it states that Mary didn’t have other children?
If she had other children would that be wrong?
Would it change who Jesus is if he had siblings?
So if we don’t see things the way the CC sees it we are liars?

Can you show us where it states that Mary didn’t have other children? There is no passage in Scripture whatever that lists any person as being a child of Mary. . .except for Jesus. You should us exactly where it specifically says that “X” was a child of Mary (except for Jesus).
If she had other children would that be wrong? It would make God into an adulterer, for one thing. Just another “Zeus” who took a human female from her husband to father a ‘demi-god’.
Would it change who Jesus is if he had siblings? Of course. If you were an only child, you would be different from the ‘you’ you would be if you had brothers and sisters. Your life experiences would be different. If you have siblings yourself, you know that there was always a ‘jockeying’ (even among the most loving siblings) to see who Mom and Dad loved ‘best’. Wonder how “fair” Mary and Joseph would have been with one PERFECT child and other ‘not perfect’ children? (“Go to sleep. JESUS never fusses about going to bed.” “Don’t take that apple. JESUS never eats snacks between meals.” “Look at that report card! You got a B in Math. JESUS always gets As in Math”)
So if we don’t see things the way the CC sees it we are liars?
No, just mistaken. The Catholic Church happens to have the fullness of truth. . .so if you don’t ‘see it’, it’s not that you aren’t seeing things the "CC’ way, it’s that you’re missing the truth. Subtle but very important distinction.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount that is called Olivet, which is nigh Jerusalem, within a sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Jude the brother of James. 14 All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. 15 In those days Peter rising up in the midst of the brethren, said: (now the number of persons together was about an hundred and twenty:)

If I give you the passages you will only say they were cousins not brothers or sisters. Now I asked for you to show me where it says that she didn’t have other children.

But wouldn’t God have had a child with a woman who wasn’t his wife, but his mother if Mary is the mother of God.

So Jesus would be someone different if he had siblings. Just because he had siblings wouldn’t change who God meant him to be. Now isn’t the “jockeying” a part of life that we all learn from? So what would be the problem if he was raised as a normal child with brothers and sisters? I see not negative.

Show me the truth.

That’s like asking catholics if you accept Calvin, Wesley, Zwinli and Luther about Mary, why don’t you accept their other teachings. It’s not a good point.

Now, Bill, please stop being silly. 🙂

According to the Perpetual Virginity the second of the 5 dogmas of Mary it says, The expression peretual virginity, ever-virgin, or simply “Mary the Virgin” refers primarily to the conception and birth of Jesus. From the first formulations of faith, especially in baptismal formulas or professions of faith, the church professed that Jesus Christ was conceived without human seed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Here lies the decisive meaning of expressions such as “conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary,” “Mary’s virginal conception,” or “virgin birth.” The early baptismal formula {since the 3rd century} states Mary’s virginity without further explaining it, but there is no doubt about its physical meaning. Later statements are more explicit. Mary conceived "without any detriment to her virginity, which remained inviolate even after birth {Council of the Lateran, 649}.

Although never explicated in detail, the CC holds as dogma that Mary was and is Virgin before, in and after Christ’s birth.

So at first it was only the conception and birth of Jesus. Then many years it was changed to before, during and after the birth of Jesus. So if at first it was only the conception and birth the teachings were not correct until the Council of the Lateran, 649 where it was then correct. I see something fallible here.

Can you show us where it states that Mary didn’t have other children?
You are asking us to prove a negative? Try proving that she did.
If she had other children would that be wrong?
Not morally, no. However, the belief that she had other children is wrong since there is no biblical or historical evidence that she did.
Would it change who Jesus is if he had siblings?
No, but this doesn’t give anyone the right to play loosey-goosey with the facts. Would it change who Jesus is if he were married to Mary Magdalene? Or are you okay with the DaVinci Code?
So if we don’t see things the way the CC sees it we are liars?
No. You repeat the errors you were taught honestly. There is no culpability in this. At the same time, you have heard the truth in this forum, and you now have the responsibility before God to learn the truth. In other words, now that you know that there is some question on this matter, you are obligated to form your conscience and your understanding properly. The burden on you is greater now that it was when you were completely ignorant.

If I give you the passages you will only say they were cousins not brothers or sisters.
And we do this because this is what the text actually means when you evaluate the Aramaic, the Greek and the context, etc.
Now I asked for you to show me where it says that she didn’t have other children.
Prove to me that Jesus wasn’t married secretly to Mary Magdalene.
So Jesus would be someone different if he had siblings. Just because he had siblings wouldn’t change who God meant him to be. Now isn’t the “jockeying” a part of life that we all learn from? So what would be the problem if he was raised as a normal child with brothers and sisters? I see not negative.
Jesus would be “different” if he had siblings in the same way he would have been “different” if he had been born in China instead of in Jerusalem. His life experiences and his knowledge would be different, but not his divine nature. I’m sure that Tantum Ergo and I would agree on this.
Show me the truth.
