Back in the Spring of 2009, I made my first Confession. Shortly after that, I backed out of RCIA due to some unresolved questions and OCD issues. I may be coming into the Church this Easter, and I’ll need to go to Confession again before receiving any other sacraments.

Did my first Confession count, since I backed out of RCIA shortly afterwards? Do I need to confess all those sins again, or do I only need to confess the sins I’ve committed since that Confession? Also, should I wait until Lent with the rest of the RCIA class to make my Confession, or can I make it earlier?

Yes, your Confession was valid, and you do not need to confess those sins again. Ask your pastor about when you might like to make another Confession.
