Did Our Lord maybe allow Saint Catherine of Siena to have OCD?

I don’t want to in any way be sacrilegious so if I am I apologize sincerely. It’s just that I have OCD, and the thoughts she had and the way she used to make the sing of the cross so often to get rid off them just reminds me so much of my OCD. Again, please let me know if I said something wrong with this lol

Some saints were thought to have mental illnesses, like anorexia or OCD. I remember watching a video that explains it but I honestly can’t find it right now

No, there’s this story that she struggled with sexual thoughts she couldn’t Get rid off. She felt guilty for them until Our Lord told her to stop. She used to make the sign up the cross repetedly whenever she had them because she felt this got rid off them. This is how OCD works. I’m not saying it’s what she hadn’t yo know, it could have been something completely mystical for her, but it sounds a lot like what I have

Saints probably had all kinds of things in the days before psych diagnoses.
It may be that she really felt a need to ward off demons with the sign, though.
So, maybe she had OCD, and maybe she didn’t.
We simply don’t know and can’t tell at this point.
You can certainly pray to her in any case and she will help you.

That is so reassuring, especially for those of us who struggle with this kind of thing. Regardless of weather she had it or not like you say. I wish it was touched upon more often.
