Fear was cast out by confidence in supposed knowledge, and the loss of it gave birth to impudence. For to be unconcerned for the judgment of one’s betters in the assurance which comes of a reckless excess of liberty is nothing in the world but reprehensible impudence.
So the next stage of the journey toward liberty will be refusal to submit to magistrates, and on this will follow emancipation from the authority and correction of parents and elders; then, as the goal of the race is approached, comes the effort to escape obedience to the law, and, when that goal is all but reached, contempt for oaths, for the plighted word, and all religion. The spectacle of the Titanic nature of which our old legends speak is reenacted; man returns to the old condition of a hell of unending misery.

No arguments have been put forth to support the claim that rock music is “satanic,” so far, it’s a mere assertion, supported by clever poetry and that’s all. I would recommend everyone be skeptical of such fallacious methods of argumentation.

Me thinks Christmas is more of a theme than a genre. I consider Train’s Shake Up Christmas to be one of my favorite songs (both rock and Christmas).I think we can all agree that Christmas music is better than rock music though.
Then again, I also like Marilyn Manson’s version of This is Halloween. Hehehe… hehehehehe… >B)

Better get used to it. Such ‘arguments’ have infected rock music threads for a long time. Unfortunately, there are no infractions for logical fallacies under the guise of fighting for what’s religiously right (even though the subject of art and music has never been farther from the topics of morality and religion in terms of absolutes).

….the Fathers of the Church chose only eight modes or tones (ihoi), from the many which existed, for use in the Church. Others were rejected because they were seen to have a negative effect on the disposition of the soul for prayer and even encouraged the passions. We can see that same truth at work today. Is there any doubt that the structure, rhythm, and melodies of rock music heighten what is referred to in the spiritual realm as the fleshly passions? Music, all kinds of music, affects the soul in ways that are barely perceived by those of us whose spiritual eyes are clouded over by the cares of this world.
