Francis’ interview with “Il Messaggero”. The interview was published on June 29, 2014:
Question for Francis: “Why have you, from the very beginning, chosen to stress your role as the Bishop of Rome?”
Francis: “Francis’ first service is this: to be the Bishop of Rome.”
Question for Francis: “Where is Bergoglio’s Church headed?”
Francis: “Thank God, I have no Church; I follow Christ.

I think your forgetting the rest of the quote:
I have not founded anything. I had not changed my style that much since I was in Buenos Aires. Yes, somewhat, because it is needed, but changing my age would have been ridiculous.”
Remember, he’s answering in response to the question

It’s clear from the context that he’s pointing out that the church belongs to Christ, not the pope. To be honest, that’s a very reassuring answer!

Was there any other doubt? No pope in history would have suggested otherwise…not even the most corrupt ones.

To answer your question, yes he did. There is no such thing as Bergoglio’s Church.
