Like child molestation or child rape. Did some Protestant ministers did them too like some Catholic clergymen did?

Is it very much? Minimal? Or never happened?

Yup, but they Protestant churches are so fractured there’s no easy way to track offenders. They just hop from church to church, or from mission field to mission field. I read an article a year or so ago, where Billy Grahm’s grandson said its statistically worse than the Catholic Church.

This isn’t the same article I read, but it’s recent: houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/article/Billy-Graham-s-grandson-on-6596205.php

In the 40+ years I was a Protestant, none of the churches had any sort of rigorous or widespread safe environment training like what I’ve experienced at the Catholic Church. I’ve volunteered in nurseries, VBS programs, Sunday school classes, and Youth Groups and only once did they even do a background check on me. 🤷

Which reminds me, my Safe Environment training expires this month. I don’t formally/regularly volunteer for anything at our Parish right now, but my Church strongly encourages all Parishioners to get trained.

Yes, it does happen, and Protestant denominations do not share information on this any more so than they share information on anything else. But there hasn’t been any systemic, widespread coordinated effort at a coverup or denial, so it’s a very different situation where that’s concerned.

Oh, right, one other thing is different. The Catholic abuses have been overwhelmingly homosexual in nature, and that’s not been the case with Protestant ministers. It doesn’t really have anything to do with anything, it’s just another difference that is statistically significant even if it has no broader application.

The simplest and most direct answer to your question is that some Protestant ministers committed the same crimes as some Catholic clergymen. If that was the only thing you knew about the situation, you’d scratch your head and wonder why everyone came after the Catholic Church but nobody came after Protestants. Fortunately, however, that isn’t the only thing you know about the situation.

This has been committed by perhaps every religion or Organisation that has Authority
Or influence over children ,
