I’ve been having a discussion with a friend about, I guess it would fall under the category of, direct and indirect abortion. If there was a situation similar to that of St. Gianna Beretta Molla where in a pregnancy either the mother or the child will survive, not both. Obviously, it would be the more charitable sacrifice for her to give up her life for her child, but is it a mandate that she does so? Or can she choose to save herself over the child?
